35559 I can commit to 15 with a cap of 20. Like Ashley, some of these will be short but at least they could count for tasks.

@Tricia - would The Watch That Ends the Night fit this task? At least for the ones that did survive."

Absolutely

35559 Oh wow I never noticed that tab! I also have Starter Villain on my TBR so I'll add that one to my list for later.

The Paradise Problem is being used as Indonesia in case you still want to read that one. The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency is a very unique read. :)

I'm a little confused. Don't we want to be shooting to read our cap? I thought the more books the better, so even though our pledged books are 169, we really want to be reading 259 if we can? And if so, we aren't even halfway there yet and we've got 2 weeks to go until our numbers reset. In my mind, we can read more than we have been so far as we've read 105 but we can technically read another 154! Am I totally wrong about this?

Understood! :D No problem. I'm also reading some novellas and things that I'm not adding to the SS, but I'll put them on my shelf just in case.

35559 Considering Robin and Rachel are reading well under their limits, shouldn't we have everyone put in ALL of their books? I've never played with book caps before, but it seems like there won't be any problem using all of Jacqueline's (and others) books as Robin in particular is well behind her cap.

35559 In regards to Demon Copperhead, I think it's a good one to keep in reserve for something on the cover tasks and it has almost everything on there!
Jun 01, 2025 11:48AM

35559 I've started Demon Copperhead. Does it matter which cover I'm reading? I'm technically listening to it on audio, which is the tan cover with all the animals, but the ebook cover has blue, white, and gold on the cover. I have it in ebook version, I'm just going to read it on audio because my library hold came in.

Anyone else see trees at the very bottom background of Ashley's The Light Pirate?
The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton"

The alternate cover of The Light Pirate has lots of trees, which is the paperback cover.

35559 Two authors that I know of that were born in Argentina are:

Samanta Schweblin - she's written several books, but most of them are pretty short. I have an ARC of her most recent called Good and Evil and Other Stories. I can read it soon and it would work for author born in Argentina as well as OLIVE in the title.

Agustina Bazterrica is another Argentine author. Her most famous book is Tender is the Flesh, which is a really fascinating and disturbing distopian/horror book. She most recently wrote the Unworthy, also post apocalyptic thriller/horror. They are both novellas, and I have read them both but thought someone else might be interested.

35559 I just checked my possible books and none of them start with those words either. :(

35559 I finished Untamed, so we can get another traveling task. :)

Laura - I can move my book to another prompt if you want to do the plane one. Mine will count for the spell it out letter G.

The Paradise Problem takes place on an island, as well as a character going to the spa. Did you get that one from the library?

35559 I feel like some of Robin's books might work for castle or palace?

I'm currently reading Untamed by Glennon Doyle and I think she mentioned getting on a plane. I'll double check.

35559 Yay! Good job team! I just finished Raven Boys, so we could get a new travelling task.

35559 For the future, the Vegetarian had a Y character and an I character.
May 29, 2025 09:47AM

35559 It's true! I hadn't read many of my books for this challenge yet and suddenly they all bumped to the top because of TT!

35559 How long have the cheeses been lasting? I know we've completed all of ours but I didn't hear when they officially ended. Have they been long or short?
May 28, 2025 10:13PM

35559 I finished the Vegetarian. I'll update the spreadsheet when i get to my desk.

35559 Alex Michaelides is Greek, so if anybody has The Silent Patient, The Maidens, or The Fury on their TBR, those would work. I can't find an easy list of other Greek Authors anywhere.
