35559 Wow, Alisha just eliminated about 1/2 of her maze from consideration! :O Am I the only one who looks at other people's progress? LOL

There are some good ones on there but you definitely have to look hard. lol... Tipping point was actually quite interesting. Five People You Meet in Heaven was good and short if I'm remembering correctly. Life of Pi is excellent if you haven't already read it. Could always read the Lemony Snickett for a quick and easy way to get through the task. lol

Oh, there's a Stephanie Plum! Those are super entertaining and a fast read.

That's how I read it also.

35559 I know this challenge is new so I wanted to suggest that the north/south conditions get randomized in the future? The way it is now we're almost always going south so I can never pick titles from A to M. It means half of my TBR is almost always ruled out. If it flipped randomly that would give those titles a chance!

35559 #2. The Rook (The Checquy Files, #1) by Daniel O'Malley

Finished this and really liked it. Wish it hadn't taken me so long to read it.

Really struggling with most of the other titles on my list, though. Clearly there's a reason they have sat for so long. I want to read about 7 of them. The other 10 or so I feel like deleting, but feel like I SHOULD read them as they are all highly rated and popular. It's a stuggle!!!

Oooohhh, I see now. The team has a cap on the number of books they are allowed to read. So yes, it makes sense to make them as close to 1000 pages as possible then. Got it! I'm nervous about signing up. I have no idea how many books to sign up for. Is it useful at all to sign up to be a small number person or does that just handicap the team?
Apr 29, 2022 08:31AM

35559 hi! I'm totally new here and have been hearing about TT but don't really understand. Can you read more books than you sign up for and just leave them off the special shelf? What about reading books that don't count? I guess I'm asking if you can have a selection of books just for this challenge but then also doing other reading for yourself or other challenges on the side?

Also don't understand the points. Why read huge 1000+ page books when it seems like you'll get more points by reading under 1000+ books. It seems like reading a bunch of smaller (100-999) books would be better. What am I missing?

And finally, what if you don't participate in BOM? As I said I'm new here and haven't figured that one out yet either. lol

35559 It's my first time doing a maze challenge, and I realize that I was just single mindedly trying to make it from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Am I right that this is the goal, or are we supposed to be revealing our whole maze?
Apr 16, 2022 08:33PM

35559 You're at a dead end. You need to go back to the start and then go south.

Oh yes, that's MUCH easier! I assumed since it explicitly mentioned the Tarot card, that the reference had to be specific. I have loads of choices if it just needs to say The World in any context. Thanks!!

How do I know which one? Or do I just randomly start reading and hope for the best? Doesn't seem like an efficient system! Lol

35559 I am absolutely loving this maze challenge, and am having a lot of fun finding books that fit my tasks, but this one has me stumped. How in the world do I go about finding a book that meets this requirement?

Task: Read a book with the name of the tarot card "The World" in the text or title
Apr 11, 2022 12:40AM

35559 I'm reading Little Fires Everywhere for my next task and I'm struggling so hard. I find this book horribly boring so far. It has amazing reviews so I'm not sure why I'm having a hard time, but I'm just not clicking with this book on any level!
