Sorry I was on my phone and didn't have the links. Yes, it's NR Walker. I've got it downloaded from the library and I'll start it as soon as I finish my current book. :)

35559 Is it Imago by NR Walker? If so then I can read this. I love NR Walker's books and have this on my tbr.

Oh sorry, yes it's mainframes. I thought it was great! Very entertaining and I loved the characters.

Also, I finished the last book in Iceland so we're ready for a new country!

I checked out Quicksilver from the library the other day, so I'll be getting to it soon!

35559 I finished Deep End, and it can work for a couple different letters in Mini 3, or it does have the word "bananas" in the text. Since we can use banked books for the new Mini, should I prioritize filling in Iceland instead?

35559 Can one of the captains take a look at this and tell me if you think the spire in the background counts as a church or cathedral on the cover?

35559 I'm currently reading a book that has a few places it could fit. It would fit in some of the spellouts, the author is from Sweden, and so far the book takes place in Portugal. I think they are now traveling to India, so I'm going to continue reading and see which country is more than 50%. But all 3 of these countries are level 1. I currently have it in Mini 1, but am happy to move it.

35559 The book I'm about to finish (Of monsters and mainframes) has red and yellow on the cover.

If someone is reading something specifically for a task, they should claim it on the SS. So if the task is unassigned, I say go for it!

Can you find a book that works for one of the open tasks? Train on the cover or author from turkey? I found that The Backyard Bird Chronicles by Amy Tan works for KEBAB but I'm currently reading two other books, so I was planning to get to it after these. But maybe you have something on your tbr?

35559 Yes it's a very low page count so I put it there to not forget about it. We can move it anytime you think it's worth using.

35559 Cemetery Boys is centered around Day of the Dead and it's really good.

Yeah I'm really trying to read bigger books this month! But of course it's taking me longer.

35559 So that's going to be all the travel tasks for the rest of the challenge? We still have two months to go. It's going to be difficult to find spots for all of our books.

35559 Good idea using Art Thief. I had briefly considered it but didn't see the tiny patch of blue. The Marvels doesn't seem work for any of the other travel tasks so i could add it to the countries itinerary. It's London so only level 1 but better than nothing?

35559 I just finished The Marvels, and the MC takes a train. Just an FYI in case you want to use it for that prompt.

35559 I am hoping to finish things we got over today or tomorrow. But you're welcome to move it if you have another book ready to go in that spot! I really don't mind you moving my books to wherever they serve the team best!

35559 Oh, and if anyone is looking for a very fast read, I just started The Marvels by Brian Selznick. Half of it is illustrated, but it's still around 37K words, so it counts for the challenge. I'm finding it really interesting. The first story is fully illustrated. The second story is text. And you need to figure out how the two are connected.

I think it's classified as middle grade/YA but so far I'm finding it similar in style to Harry Potter and doesn't talk down to the reader the way a lot of younger books do. At 664 pages, it's lots of points!

(I work in an independent bookstore and need to read more middle grade so I know what to recommend to kids. I decided to use that as an opportunity to pick up really big ones and the Marvels is huge!)

35559 My standouts were The Watch That Ends the Night and Buffalo Hunter Hunter. I really loved The Incandescent by Emily Tesh - I technically finished it just before the challenge, so I'm cheating by mentioning it here but it's worth it. lol

If you love novellas then I can recommend Elegy for the Undead by Matthew Vesely and Comfort Me with Apples by Catherynne Valente. Maybe read them on the side, though, as they aren't very many pages/points. ;)

35559 I'm curious if we were able to use any of our reserve books?
