I think the only spots open we have are books with decorations for the chariot and coach books for the sprint, which have to be about boxing, wrestling, or MMA.Our decoration theme so far is floral (I jokingly call it "stuff a tapir could eat), so if you have any books with flowers. Or just anything we can spruce it up with.
If anyone has any books they haven't started yet and that aren't essential (your only book for Event 1, 2, or 5) maybe speak up and offer to swap? We could mark those with a new color in the spreadsheet. It would be handy to finish off the basic heats. I did go the library and get some biographies of fighters which I think would work for coaching. They looked more to my taste.
I was hoping we'd finish the basic rounds sooner, but I don't know if that's actually realistic. As long as we've opened up one of the bonuses I guess I'll be able to read stuff.
Do you think that's a legal arm? It's got a short sleeve, but it's mostly transparent. If so you could grab it for the last arm spot in Event 3 -- Jennifer had picked a book for it but I don't think she's started it yet.Does a BR mean you are supposed to read it slowly? I've only done one and we read the book within the day.

My buddy read with Harpy Eagle with The Reason I Jump was fun, and now some more people are chiming in. I'm glad I've discovered buddy reads!
Are these lists helpful to anyone? Like I said, I just did it because I was avoiding the small print of the book I'm supposed to be reading, but now I have the list so it isn't that hard to maintain.Beth, Queen of Procrastination

Are we officially allowed to start reading the bonus round books for the Title Chain, (because of our social task completion)?
Here's my list of what we are committed to for base rounds, not including the bonus chain. Sheila, I'm worried about your book Broken Dishes because you already have a tool book in that round. I thought we were only allowed one spot per round in Event 5.I'd say our priorities are:
1. Read at least one book for Events 1, 2, 5.
2. Finish your commitments to the base rounds (or call for someone to trade with).
3. Read for the 20 book Bonus Chain.
4. Read for the 15 book Bonus Chain.

That was me, because that's when we were thinking that we couldn't even start bonus books until the bonus rounds were open. But now we don't think that, right? I haven't started mine yet because I'm still unclear on that rule.
Hey, I'm having so much fun with the Title Relay that I think we should propose it as the new event for NBRC, which is one of our new challenges, right?We could pick a wise saying every month, like "No man is an island" and people have to read a book starting with "No" and then finish a title chain with "Island". You get bonus points for including the other words in the phrase in your chain.
