Yikes those U's are going to be trouble. We're traveling and staying with friends now, so I'm up late playing cards instead of reading. I'll look for U books soon. Right now I need to just try to get some more reading done!

Melanie,
I moved your book, Dead Space, to the 4th spell out of VAMPIRE (Letter M, line 32 on SS) to take the place of my book. Mine is not going to come in from my library in time, so I had to remove it.

If anyone else wants to read a BOM, sign up or let us know if you need help. They really make a difference for our total points!

Post a photo if you can, Cilla!

We missed out on writing DQs but Cat got the assignments up for those participating in the BOM."Thanks for fixing my pages, Judith. Some of my challenges are "edition you read" and some are "default edition". I must have missed that one!
Sorry that we didn't get to write questions, but I think I might have struggled with coming up with questions, especially since I listened and would need to re-listen to come up with questions. I'm going to check out discussion questions now!

Yeah, I feel like most of the reason I didn’t like it, was that it just didn’t work for me. Maybe the narration lowered the likability some, but I don’t think reading it would make a significant difference. I don’t read horror, but I would think it should be more “on the edge of my seat’. It was gory in parts for sure.

Judith, I listened to the audio. Maybe reading it would have been better. I listened at 1.75 speed and it still seemed like it took forever! Oh well, it happens sometimes.

Finally got through
The Only Good Indians, BOM starting in November. I had a completely opposite opinion than the majority of reviewers. It seems to get mostly 5 star reviews, but for me I probably wouldn't have even finished it if it wasn't for the challenge. Ugh. It will be interesting to see what others in the challenge think once the questions are posed.

Agree. I think that’s why it’s taking me so long.
Maybe it would have been better to read it. I’m finding it very odd and repetitive, but it gets rave reviews, so I thought it was just me.
Cilla wrote: "I will finish one of my 1,000 page behemoths by tomorrow and have finished the BOM. I just have to finish the questions. I had to take some time to figure out some other challenges. Most of my book..."Way to go, Cilla on finishing that doorstopper along with the BOM!
I'm slowly listening to November BOM "Only Good Indians". Hoping to finish it in the next 2 days.

Really? That's terrific! I'll check it out!"We're good! Martina is the character. I added it to the tracking sheet.

I'm reading
The Family Upstairs for my Turf Wars challenge and really was hoping it would do double duty for Wheel also, but I can't find any characters who would make it work for VAMPIRE. It's got some pretty good page numbers at 446. Maybe I'll find a last name that will work once I start reading it.

Cilla,
Way to go reading that BOM! It does help our score if as many as possible read the book and answer the questions. I'm reading some that are not my typical genre, but you never know...I may really like them. If anyone can get the books and join some of the rest of us in the read, that would be awesome!

Way to go, Judith and Vikki!
My books for this round are unfortunately fairly short. I'm a bit limited due to needing to read for a few other challenges. Clue ended today, so things will let up some. Sadly we lost, but I'm ready to not have so many balls in the air!

Finished my last book for Round 1. Ended it on a high note!

It just took me about 5 minutes to read through all the posts. So aggravating that I'm still not getting notifications for these. I'm on a few other challenges and notifications works for them, but not here. The app is always screwy, but I'm not even getting them on my laptop.
Anyway, I'm all caught up on the near end of round chatter and you all are doing great! I should finish my last book, by end of today. We will finish strong with all the "backup books" we have.
Excited to get our new word and looking now to see which of my up next books from the library and on my Kindle will fit!

I just signed up for both November BOM. I volunteered to write DQs for both, so Judith I'll be a back up for you on the one book, if we're chosen.
Did anyone volunteer to read October's BOM? I don't see anyone signed up to write DQs for that one.
Not books I would have chosen, as I'm not a fan of horror at all and fantasy is not my typical go to. I must love you guys a lot to have signed up for these books!! Fingers crossed they'll be ok!
