I have to go to court this morning for a friend, but hopefully I'll be able to get back on here soon after opening to check on everyone again. Happy reading!

I'm Nanci (one of your co-captains) and I live in Virginia in the USA. I've been married for 43 years and we have 3 adult children along with 6 grandchildren and another one coming end of January.
I've played in a number of Wheel challenges and am hooked on playing in many challenges every year. I've been a captain on UNO and have co-captained many challenges before, including one other time with Louise.
Like Vikki, books were my first love! Growing up my neighborhood library had a checkout maximum of two books for children, but after they realized my mom and I were coming in everyday to get more books for me, they told me I could take as many as I liked. The next day we came in with my wagon...true story!
My favorite genres now are historical fiction, fiction, non-fiction, psychological thrillers, and literary. For challenges I stretch my wings a bit and read outside of my norm.
Looking forward to meeting new people and getting some new reading suggestions from my teammates.

Melissa,
Thanks for the offer to join your team. It's been great playing with you and you've been an awesome co-captain, whereas I have been a stinky one! Haha! Life has been so busy I could barely keep up with the thread and read some! I'm going to take a pass at any other challenges for at least one month. I participated in too many challenges over the past 6 months and just need to take a break to do my own reading on a more relaxed time frame. I would love to be on another team with you in the future! Also, I thought your funny story and your tragedy story were just fine! Thanks for taking the lead when no one else could do it!

I added a matching pair for V7 and V8. If it doesn't work, my feelings are not hurt to have it removed. It seems like the task is fairly wide open, as I interpret it, so hoping it's ok.

Have a wonderful trip, Melissa!

Very cool! We loved Mystic (of course had pizza at the famous restaurant!), but it was summer, so the weather was perfect! I have spent time in all the states, except for Alaska. I found something great about each one, but Newport, RI holds a special place in my heart. Just my husband and I visited there when he had some job training. We had 3 littles at home at the time, so it was extra special to have a few days for just the two of us.
Great that you can now take advantage of all the travel and how wonderful that at 80 your mom can still work!

Having just read the Ted Bundy book where he escapes from jails 3 times, I find the idea of your work pretty interesting!

Didn't I see a graphic example somewhere for the Polyhymnia mini? I can't find it to see if my book might fit there.

I'm only on page 341 of 1,805 in the ebook and I bet I've put at least three hours into reading it. I've never read a book so slowly before! It's an important account of how cruel and unjust people can be to their own fellow humans, but sometimes I just have to take a break from all the meanness.

I'm not sure how to answer your question. I wonder if you could just edit the book on your shelf to the correct version and it would still put the date in the same as you origi..."
There are more than 172 pages of editions of the Uncle Tom's Cabin book! I am reading an ebook version from my library. I looked through the first 6 pages and don't see it. I thought we were supposed to use the default edition so that's what I was using. It is:
Uncle Tom's Cabin
The ebook edition that I am reading is actually more pages. I hope it's ok to use the default edition. If we're using it for the task of 'two team members read the same book", then I don't think the edition will matter.

I'm not sure how to answer your question. I wonder if you could just edit the book on your shelf to the correct version and it would still put the date in the same as you originally had.
I am reading it, although I"m only 16% done. It's taking me awhile bc of the dialect. Still hoping to finish it by the end of this week. Hopefully we can use it as a book a teammate has read. I think that will be harder than something on your TBR.

Just finished reading through all the posts on this thread. I have back issues from time to time and after our long 13 hour car trip home, it was acting up. I did get some reading done in the car and yesterday resting my back, so that's the good news! My books are just both long ones for me, so it's going to take awhile. Should get some more time in today.
Melissa the FL home is going well. We had a great time with our oldest daughter and her family! She's very detail oriented and I came home one day to find her cleaning our place in all the little cracks and crevices so it's now really immaculate. The funny thing is she was a slob growing up, so for anyone who has a messy daughter have patience it might change! LOL.
We now have it rented out for all the months until next summer except for March (which we're taking) and October and April, so we're very pleased and I'm relieved we won't be eating just beans for the next year!

Thanks!
