I just finished my first book.

was a 5 star read for me. It wouldn't be for everyone as there are some themes including child abuse, but I found the story interesting. It wasn't a very old one on my list as I only added it last year, but at least it didn't clog up my TBR for 10 years unlike some other books I have yet to read.

I started my new job yesterday and I will be able to listen to audiobooks once I get a real hang of the work. I might attempt to listen to something tomorrow, but it might still be a bit soon. But once I get the hang of everything, I am planning to get some of those classics I added in 2012 read.

I'm impressed so many of you have already finished books!

I've got a few on the go (in various formats) so I should start finishing some soon.
I start a new job on monday (I should have started yesterday, but I got Covid) and hopefully I can listen to books while I work. If so then I should get a lot of those classics I added in 2012 off of my list.

I do love a good stat! Thank you for doing this and well done everyone! 2000 books read is a huge number.

If all goes well, I should manage more in 2022 than I did in 2021, but I guess we will see what the year brings!

I usually read on my kindle app if I am out and have some time to waste or if I am travelling. But I haven't been able to do much of that the past couple of years for obvious reasons.
I signed up to a website that emails me with daily amazon deals for ebooks a year or so ago so my kindle books have just been growing. I try to only get the ones that sound interesting to me, but so many of them sound interesting to me.
So I intend to make more of an effort to read some books off my kindle this year. Even if it is only one a month, it will be some progress.

I dont really buy physical books anymore. I have too many available on various apps including my local library which is really good. And if I do buy books, they are generally second hand from a charity shop or something. I very rarely buy a book brand new.
My books on my kindle must be up to about 400 to read now so I really must tackle some of them this year.

29 is still a decent number. It's all progress. Good luck getting even more off next year!

I think I need to finish one more to complete my challenge. I haven't had time to update things for a bit. I might struggle getting that last one as I'm not very well (awaiting tests results to find out if it's Covid or just a cold) so I spent most of yesterday in bed asleep and today might be the same. Still trying to finish Gone with the Wind though.

Thanks Jenny, I'm due to start work on the 6th so I should find out then if I will be able to listen to things while I work or not. If I can't wait that long, I will sign up and I'm sure I can tell the mods nearer the time if my predicted amount of reading will change

I will probably sign up too but maybe not yet. Does anyone know when sign ups close? That link isnt working on my phone. I would like to wait till I've started my new job in the beginning of January as I'm not sure if I will be able to listen to audiobooks as I work. If I can, it would vastly increase the amount I would be able to read.

I've got about 6 and a half hours left on audio, so I might still finish it, but there is a chance I will go into the first couple of days in January.
