If it's ok to double up, I'm happy to read At Bertram's Hotel too, it's a favourite Miss Marple. It's also series #10 & crime/mystery.

OK. Not that I'm committing myself to reading that enormous book again. Three times is probably enough for this life, especially when there are so many other books to read, but it is an exceptional yarn.

Ah! I didn't see this before.
Now for the door
Steal shelter books from other teams to make your door.
(This means reading a book another team has already read for their 'shelter' category.)
Get creative about how their book would be a door.
Is it a brown cover and therefore you are using it for your wooden door?
Does it have a door on the cover? That's obvious and not so creative, but, hey it works.
Does it have a character who is a builder? Great - get them to build your door!
You will need 4 books to complete your door.

The action in the arena is very entertaining & moves rapidly, such clever tortures have been devised for the poor tributes. It's a relief to be finished this one as Katniss' maunderings get harder to take - let the whole world burn but for Peeta, Peeta, Peeta, oh, hang on, I've got family, doesn't matter, Peeta, Peeta, Peeta, not even sure whether I like him but because I wants it my precious that's what has to happen. I'll rakes him with ma claws... . Ugh! nausea-inducing. Then there's the end - I'll just starve myself to death, that'll show 'em.

I find this one a bit of a grind before we finally get to the Quell & start meeting some of the other contestants - I would have liked more about them. I do like the scene where they all hold hands & show a united front against what is being done to them.Katniss, self-centred as always, forgets what her little acts of rebellion could cause her family - I understand why she'd want to cock a snook at the Gamemakers with her little Seneca Crane act, but it seemed a rather silly thing to include something so gratuitously stupid - once I remembered who Seneca was, anyway. I don't think she's terribly bright but I didn't think she was quite that obtuse. Luckily the ramifications were minor at that point & she only got to "scream her head off" over a non-family member later on.
Cinna is a bit of a mystery, a clever character who took responsibility for his own actions, even though he may have underestimated possible reprisals. I don't understand his attention to Katniss as anything more than a subject for his best work. Yes, he didn't like what the Capitol did to the District young, but the personal interest he took in her felt somewhat false. A bit of a cipher at best, young Cinna.
Shelby wrote: "Spreadsheet QuestionsHeli - Can you please make sure that The Wishing Game is on your shelf?
Kylie - Can you please double check your page count for Madly, Deeply? The edition you have on your s..."
It did when I put it in, & someone's removed the image as well. I've changed it to another edition because someone's been fiddling.
Shelby wrote: "I wouldn't wish this on anyone Elisabeth. I'm already confused as hell with book 2 and I'm only 25pg..."Oh, no! I feel for you, Shelby, & honour your sacrifice. Is there still a dragon?

It takes Katniss sooooo long to look around & see what's happening to all those people who aren't among her immediate circle of family & friends, to look outside herself. This is a girl who has had a hard-scrabble life, not a prissy, modern snowflake, & she is a hunter, so she really should be more aware of what's going on around her. Now she is being forced to become aware of the outside world, a slow awakening but not a moment too soon. Snow's visit & what has happened to Gale may finally get her to think.
