Review: I actually had mixed feelings about the characters of this book.
Catalina is in need of a fake boyfriend for her sister's wedding, since she lied and told her mother that she was dating someone after finding out her ex (the groom's brother) was going to be there with his fiancée. Aaron overhears the conversation and volunteers his services.
The thing is Aaron and Catalina are bitter enemies at work, so she objects wholeheartedly. The thing is there is a very thin line between love and hate.
I think this book would have benefited it had been dual pov, because just seeing Aaron in the beginning from Lina's pov made it hard for me to warm up to him. I suspected some things that made me not completely dislike him, but it wasn't easy getting past what Lina thought of him since that's all I got.
By the time it got to the trip to Spain, my thoughts were made clear, and we finally get the details of what makes Lina so leery of relationships. That's when the book got good for me. Seeing them open up to one another, learning more about the both of them because they finally started communicating honestly with each other.

Review: I have mixed feelings about the characters in this book. One the one hand I thought Mia was a strong independent woman, until she wasn't in the way she professed to want to be independent. The whole not needing someone to save her, but she was constantly needing the help, but wasn't gracious enough to except it without stating that she didn't need the help, when she actually did.
I think she mixing up needing to be independent with having to much pride and being too damaged to except help when it's offered.
Adam was an asshat from the beginning and I never really warmed up to him after his behavior during their first meeting. The towards the end when I decide to feel sorry for him, he turns around and does something even more idiotic to prove what a douche he can be.
Still, I loved the idea of a woman selling her virginity on her own terms. At the same time I was glad to see that they didn't shy away from the reality of doing this, especially the legal issues.
As for the "plot twist" that was revealed towards the end, none of it was a mystery. It was clear as the sky on a sunny, cloudless day.
Will I read or listen to more books in this series? Most likely, but not because I'm particularly interested in knowing more about this couple (especially after reading some of the other reviews). I was gifted a few other books in this series, so I will eventually get around to listening to those.

Review: I don't know if I have the words to adequately describe how amazing this story turned out to be from beginning to end.
In the beginning I just kept thinking how similar the Doom was to our own experience with the Coronivirus. I had to look at the date of publish to see if maybe that's where Nora Roberts got her inspiration from, but no this was published before we had to go through what we went through.
The only similarities were in the beginning though. This book took so many twists and turns, in a good way. I kept wondering how all of our characters: Lana & Max, Arlys, Fred, Jonah, Rachel, Katie, etc... were going to meet up. They all had to make their way out of New York (at the ones I actually listed) with varying degrees of obstacles along the way.
I'm giving this story 5 stars, even though when Lana, Max, and Eddie found the original circle of dark magic, I knew exactly who it was. Maybe it was meant for the reader to guess, not sure, but I wished it had been more suspenseful.
Still, the gang they were with didn't know or didn't want to see, and got the surprise of their lives.
All of this leading up to the gang (listed above) finding each other, and then a tragedy that I didn't see coming.
Hopefully, after that ending, we get to see everyone again.

Review: I have been enjoying the connection that's been developing over time between these two packs (Phoenix & Mercury), and now they have an added layer of connection with Marcus and Roni becoming an item.
I liked that Roni made Marcus work for her time and attention, even though she wasn't doing it in a bid for him to want her, just that she was being herself and he loved it and couldn't get enough.
As for the rest of the story, I wanted to knock some heads (mainly Marcus) when it was clear that the "seer" whom he had some type of superficial relationship with, lied about her vision for his future. He never questioned that it could be wrong. She may be a seer, but she is still a woman. A woman who wanted a man no matter what.
The person that I loved the most throughout this story was Roni. She never tried to be anyone different than who she is. She was strong, both mentally and physically, and she didn't take any shit (from most people).
