Review:
This was a good opening to this series. The MacLeod's entire clan was massacred years before this story takes place, about 300 years, but still the legends of that clan and that massacre lives on.
Cara, who was orphaned after her parents were killed, lives near the deserted, and some think haunted, MacLeod castle.
While she is venturing near the castle on an errand, she finds herself in a life-threatening situation. Lucan comes to her rescue. The thing is Lucan is one of those MacLeods who is supposed to be dead.
Unbeknownst to all in the area, and most of Scotland and surrounding areas the 3 MacLeod's (Fallon, Lucan, & Quinn) are very much alive. They have been in hiding from an evil druid who wants to use them for whatever her nefarious plans are.
The spark/chemistry between Lucan and Cara is immediate and very strong. They have quite a few obstacles in their way, but they are determined to be together no matter what.
This book is an introduction to this world with all of these warriors and druids, but the author didn't let the worldbuilding get in the way too much of Lucan and Cara's story.

Review:
Cassidy had a dream since she was a young girl and set out to make that dream come true. That dream being owning cabins in the Colorado Mountains, and sharing that with and everything that comes with it, with the man of her dreams.
In the beginning she thought that man was Grant. Grant turned out to be an asshat, but she still kept the dream going once she sent him packing.
John Priest became a regular, if somewhat erratic, customer to the cabins. He witnessed the craziness that was Cassie and Grant's relationship and he realized that there was something to her. She realized the same about him.
After years of denying themselves, mainly Deacon doing the denying, things combusted in an amazing way. From that moment forward, the dynamics of their relationship changed.
We met Deacon in the previous novel, briefly. It took a while her to get to know his background, but we still go to experience the type of man that he is.
I loved Jessie right from the start, she knew what she wanted and she went for it, and didn't take anyone's crap along the way.
The sex between these two were super hot and some things, in that regard, was unexpected but nice.
The only negative I have is that I don't need to be reminded thousands of times that a character is a badass. I get it. After so many times it makes me wonder if the author is trying to convince herself or me. His actions speak for themselves. Just saying.

If you read the last book, which you should have because this series should be read in order, then you know that Charley has amnesia. She woke up in an alley in Sleep Hollow, NY with no memory of who she was and where she came from, and how she got into that alley.
This book starts out a little over a month after that one ended. Charley still doesn't have her memory, and she now goes by Janey Doerr. Yeah you know she couldn't be just simply Jane Doe. This is Charley Davidson we are talking about, the queen of sarcasm and wit.
Anyway, underneath all of the who or what am I, is the same Charley Davidson. She is still prone to sarcasm and finding herself in sticky situations, while at the same time trying to save the innocent. In other words, still the same woman we have grown to love.
Darynda Jones has managed to move the story along and at the same time renew interest, if you were insane enough to have been lagging. Seeing Charley learning about her powers, and trying to figure out what she is at the same time as trying to figure out who she is lent a newness to the entire thing.
Seeing her form a relationship with Cookie, Robert, Osh, Garrett, and most especially Reyes was the best part, because it just shows how strong their bonds are. It also shows that no matter what she and Reyes are meant to be.

book 4 is Dimitri; book 5 is Jason; book 6 is Raphael & Elena; book 7 is Elena's friend, guild hunter Ashwini & Janvier; book 8 is Naasir; next book is out in November and is again Raphael ..."
Good, because I was starting to get a bit tired of those two. Glad she gives a break between their stories from this point on. Maybe after getting a dose of some of the other characters I will miss them enough to care.

I have been trying to love this series as much as the Psy-changling series by this author, but after 3 books in it just still isn't completely doing it for me. At the same time, it is enough there for me to want to know what happens, but it isn't an urgent need. Just a mild curiosity that means at some point I will pick up the next book to find out what happens, but not right now.
In the first book I felt like these two had a connection and it seemed effortless. Now it just seems forced at times. Plus, I am sick to death of hearing archangel, guild hunter, consort, and hunter when the H/h are relating to each other. I know what he is and what she is, I don't need to be reminded every time they talk to each other, plus it adds a formality and unemotional aspect to it (for me anyway) that shouldn't be there since they are supposed to be in love. (I guess the word I was looking for was detachment??)
Anyway, that being said, as I said earlier there is a mild curiosity about some of the other characters in the series, so if the author ventures out to the secondary characters I know I eventually read those just to find out what happens in this world of angels and vampires next.

Review:
After all of the warnings in the beginning of the book about Sylvie not being like her other heroines, I was all set for a bad-ass, kick-ass heroine. Someone who would be the female version of all the bad-ass alphas that K. Ashley is known to write about.
The first part of the book totally delivered on that. I fell head over heels in love with Sylvie. She was exactly what I had been expecting.
Then came Creed. In the beginning she was still the same, but after being around him she softened, which is great, but she softened too much.
That being said the story was really good. As always K. Ashley managed to pull me in emotionally and a little bit physically (wink, wink).
Finding out what caused Sylvie the woman she is today, and Creed the man he is, was heartbreaking.
I liked that the story was interspersed with the present and the past in such a way that it felt well rounded and fulfilling.

Review:
I was a bit doubtful after Gideon, but this book pulled right back into the series right from the first page.
Elijah finds himself in the middle of an ambush, and on the verge of death he is rescued by none other than the Lycanthorpe queen Siena.
While he is recovering, sparks fly, but old prejudices get in the way. Will they let that come between an undeniable chemistry? The exchanges between these two are off the charts hot and frustrating for them both.
Everyone is worried about Elijah(in the demon court) and Siena (in the lycanthorpe court), because neither hasn't been seen or heard from in a while. When they are found it is in unbelievable situation.
Now not only do they have to worry about the villain he is one of their own, but as the consequences of what was set in motion when Elijah and Siena was together.
With all of that the thing I love the most is how interconnected all the characters are, so you never have to wonder about what's going on with the characters from the previous book(s).

Fun, funny, and sexy.
Those three words sum up what I feel about this book.
Hannah experienced a tramatic event when she was younger, but through therapy and family love and support she has managed to become a functioning human.
Now in college, she has a crush on one of her classmates, who is also a jock(which goes against her usual type), but she is afraid to talk to him.
Garrett is a captain of the hockey team. He too has had a not stellar upbringing, but he doesn't let it ruin his life. He and Hannah are in the same class, a class that she is passing and he is not. He decides that he need her to tutor him. If his grades don't stay up he will be suspended from playing.
Garrett stops at nothing to get her to agree, even dangling the hope of her crush noticing her in front of her face.
Neither expects to become friends or more. Neither expects to have to face demons from their past. Will they allow those things to get in the way of their budding relationship?

Review:*Contains minor spoilers*
What can I say, except the series keeps getting better and Charley is always funny.
Months have passed since she and Reyes got hitched, and now it is only a matter of time until Beep is born. The are living in on consecrated ground @ an old convent, so that the hellhounds can't attack. More and more dead people are showing up on their lawn and no one knows why.
Cookie and Ubie are getting married, but before they can go on their honeymoon the P.I and her sidekick gets a new case. Time is of the essence on this one.
With everything going on, our heroine finds herself in some crazy situations, as usual, and finds out that a lot of things are not what they seem.
As always the story is full of humor, sexiness, outrageous antics, mystery, and intrigue.
