33903 Can I change my Dark Urban Fantasy book to Feverborn (Fever, #8) by Karen Marie Moning ?

Still haven't got a copy of Unleash the Night (Dark Hunter, #8; Were-Hunter, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon at my library

33903 I will narrow down my options today. I have about 6 books I'm trying to decide from.

33903 Kait it started great or I wouldn't have made it this far. Now it's feels a little like going through the motions.

Review: I really think that I am starting to be disillusioned by this series as a whole. On the one had it is great to see the strides Merit and Ethan have come in their relationship, but Merit seems to be at a standstill in her role as Sentinel.

Half the time it's like she is just human. Heck she just seems to not have some of the things that I come to think of that come naturally with vampires: super strength, speed, etc....

Plus why, when she is new to being a vampire, is all of the responsibility falling on her. (I've most likely asked or said something similar throughout the series). I just can't help feeling that she should have been teamed up with someone more experience from her house until she had gained the proper tools/skills to handle her job better.

All that said, after 8 books I am invested until the finale.

I actually liked this story up until Amaury's friends started giving their opinions about Nina. They had enough of their own doubts and misunderstandings without adding anyone else's opinions to the mix. Plus, the only thing that surprised about the villain was the who. Some of the things surrounding that situations I guessed from the start.

I like that Nina was strong and could hold her own against Amaury, even if her actions were oftentimes misguided. They both had things happen in their pasts to make them either mistrusts others or themselves.

They were definitely the perfect match. The chemistry they have is evident from the start.

33903 I have a couple of options for Dark Fantasy. Either Feverborn (Fever, #8) by Karen Marie Moning or Unleash the Night (Dark Hunter, #8; Were-Hunter, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I will come back tomorrow with definite choice

Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire

Review:
This is a spin-off from the Beautiful series which tell the story of Travis Maddox and Abby Abernathy. This story actually takes place during the same timeline in those books.

I loved that previous set of books, and was psyched to read this new series about the rest of the brothers, but I thing I ended up liking Cami and Trent more from the view I got of them in the other books.

They just didn't completely do it for me in this one. I think it may be because from the other books I got the vibe that they were a bit older or at least more mature. Still, it wasn't completely bad.

I love how sure Trent was about what he wanted, but at the same time it drives me crazy that guys revert back to bad behavior when things are not going their way. Exactly like a little child.

I love how loyal Cami was to TJ, but at the same time I was pissed at her for not being forthright with Trent about everything dealing with TJ. Yeah, she said she had a boyfriend, but not exactly who he was, and she clearly loved the attention she was getting from Trent even though she knew it was wrong.

I think I just talked myself into liking Cami even less. Smh.

This was a very intense read, but I still had a sense of vagueness. I guess I am used to knowing exactly what type of beings I am dealing with in a story, that the fact that it is never really divulged who or what the Hempstocks were didn't sit right with me somehow. Also not knowing the name of the narrator left me a bit disconnected.

Still, those things didn't do much to keep me from being enraptured by the things the nameless boy went through. No one that age should have to endure so much. I want to choke his parents and his bratty little sister.

I like the story, I just wished there had been more detail about the Hempstocks. That would have been the icing on the cake.

I love a woman who will go above and beyond to protect the people she loves. That is Nevada all the way.

This story has a strong heroine, who doesn't put up with crap from anyone. It is paranormal/urban fantasy at it's finest. I can't remember the last time that I read a book that was action packed and had me laughing out loud throughout. Add Conner "Mad" Rogan to the mix and it just ups the ante.

I think that Nevada's family stole a little bit of the show, and I hope that as the series progress we get to see much more of them.

The only thing that annoyed me in this book was the use of Mad instead of Conner when most people addressed him. I get that it is a sort of nickname and that everyone thinks that of him, but after dealing with him one on one for the time she did, I was hoping that Nevada would start to used his actual name. Hopefully in the next book that will change also.

After that ending I can't wait to see how the rest of this story is going to unfold. It wasn't a cliffhanger per se, but it did leave a wide open spot for the next book or maybe books to come.

What I love about this series as it progresses is the fact that we get to know more about Eve's past and to see her grow and get past the things that were done to her when she was a helpless child.

There are so many outcomes that could have came out of her past, but she chose the past of justice.

It is also great to see her come to accept the simple things in life that we all take for granted: friendship, love, etc...

I can't leave this without saying something about Roarke. He is and always will be the best book boyfriend. He loves Eve unconditionally and isn't afraid to show it. His life wasn't perfect either, but he has carved his place in the world and in Eve's life. He gives he exactly what she needs even when she doesn't want to accept it, or wants to continue to push herself beyond exhaustion. He doesn't try to control her, just lets her know that he is there and forces her at times to take care of herself first.
