Roarke and Eve.
Peabody, Summerset, now McNab, Mavis (who we didn't get enough of)
This particular mystery was so good and had me on the edge of my seat. The crimes were grisly and the killer is one of the most psychotic I have witnessed. Eve is one of the most smart efficient cops that I have had the pleasure of reading about. Here we have her sense of duty going up against her love of Roarke.
Even though that is so, my favorite thing about the story and series in general is witnessing the growth of the character relationships: Eve and Roarke, Eve and Peabody, Eve and Summerset, (Eve and anybody really).
Seeing the continued growth of love and friendship, learning new and interesting things about the characters, and meeting new people along the way, all makes this series and these people feel real.
In this book more than any other thus far we learn more about Roarke and Summerset, with that comes seeing how much Roarke and Eve love each other along with the debt of loyalty Roarke and Summerset has for one another.

You really should Leah. I love Charley's brand of humor (or rather Darynda Jones).

I am in awe of Darynda Jones.
Just when I think that things can't get any better in this world, she proves me wrong.
I never laugh as hard as a do when I read a Charley Davidson book. Add to that the intrigue and sexy times between Charley and Reyes, you have the makings of the most amazing book ever.
It is so great to see Charley deal with her powers, she is still learning and has a ways to go, but all that adds a new layer to the story. I love seeing the vulnerable side to Reyes, he is so strong in almost every aspect of his life, but his love for Charley is so beyond any and everything that when he is with her his softer side shows.
My only wish is that they could find a way to be able to keep Beep safe, but with them.

For those who have been reading the night huntress books before picking this up (which I recommend), you already know Denise (and her history) and Spade.
I have liked Denise since beginning because she has been a true friend to Cat throughout everything, I have also been hoping that she gets an HEA after her loss.
This book was great, seeing her get past her issues with the undead world at the same time falling for Spade. As for Spade I love how open he is with his feelings for Denise, and how he would do anything to make sure she is happy and safe (even if he gives her a hard time about it at first.)
The only reason this got 4 stars instead of 5 is because at times Denise was a bit whiny, and that was deduct a star annoying.

I don't think I've ever played a round where this shelf was called!"
Neither have I. Sorry I'm a shelf behind guys

My vampires read (Feversong) is long, and not as good to me as the others in the series were. I don't know if anyone has read the Fever series,..."
Have read and enjoyed all of them except the last 3 because I hate having to wait a full year or more for the next book. Now that I know that Feversong is the end of this particular part, for Mac and Barrons at least, I can happily go ahead and read those last 3 books and know that I will be getting some type of closure.

Mike Haines finally got his own book!!!!!
The one thing I love about this series and Kristen Ashley's books in particular is that I feel like I can relate to the characters more because they are closer to my age, most are actually older, but still I like it.
This book had two romances rolled into one which was awesome. Mike and Dusty (who I absolutely loved) & Finley and Clarisse. Such a beautiful love affair for both couples.
I will say that I laughed and cried more while reading this book than I have in any of her books that I can remember. Especially the crying part towards the end, even though I had skimmed ahead and knew what was going to happen, once I got to that part I surprised myself by crying like a loon.
KA also did it again with another great epilogue. This writer knows how to get all up in the readers emotions.

Book: Oracle's Moon by Thea Harrison

Review:
This book was great. I loved Grace (the Oracle) more than any other heroine in this series thus far. I could relate to her more than any of the others. She is thrown into the Oracle business in the midst of her grief (her sister and brother-in-law died in a car crash) and her new role as guardian to Chloe and Max (niece & nephew). Khalil (Djinn) is also very likable, but what made him even more so, is the fact that he cared about the children.
The best thing about this story wasn't all of the paranormal elements, but all of the "human" moments or lighthearted moments: Chloe acting like a 4 year old and screaming that Grace never lets her do things she likes, Max taking his first steps, Khalil trying to figure out how to dress for and what to do on a date. Yes, I loved the pnr moments but those moments made this even more enjoyable to me.
I can't wait to see how this relationship will progress (hopefully they are discussed in future books) with a mortal and immortal. How will Grace's powers as the Oracle evolve and in the process change her?
Hopefully the rest of the books stay at this pace or better.

I have enjoyed them all well enough, the introduction into this world (book 1) has been the best thus far, but I am really enjoying Oracle's Moon. I'm thinking it will be the one I measure the rest of the books by, because although it is set in the same world and will feature those characters, it feels new. Having Grace, and the little ones, makes the people in this world seem more real. That may be because I can relate to Grace's situation a bit.
