Review: I was pleasantly surprised by this story. Was I afraid or scared witless while reading? No, but the story kept me intrigued.
From the opening, with the boy being sent into The Nightmare Room, to Peter and Hannah moving into the house and everything that happens after that. I knew things were going to be a bit crazy from the beginning, but especially after the crow.
Chris Sorensen did a good job of merging what happened in that house with the boy and then with the new residents very well. I wasn't surprised by most of the revelations, but the one toward the end definitely caught me off guard. Not expected at all, but once you know it's like, "Duh, why didn't I guess that?"
Besides all the supernatural elements, I loved how much Peter and Hannah's love shown through. They've been through a lot, but their love for one another shines bright.

Review: The story around trying to break the curse on both the ex (Rhys) and the town was pretty good. There were so many elements, and as soon as they thought things were fixed, the quickly realized that it was more going on than they originally thought.
However, the romantic aspect felt lukewarm. Maybe if Vivienne and Rhys relationship from the past (hence him being the ex) had held more substance for me it would have been better, but as it stands I didn't feel like there was much there to warrant all the things happening in the present.
Even when things are rekindled it felt lackluster and a bit forced.
All that being said, I did leave the story wanting to know more about Rhys' siblings and also Gwyn.

Review: I liked Gideon and Scarlet, but I was actually more intrigued with what was happening with Strider and his mission and also Amun, Aeron, and William and their mission.
Gena Showalter has done such an amazing job with this world and keeping everything moving forward and continuously building this world up.
Scarlet is pissed at Gideon for forgetting their time together 1oo's of years ago. So she is out to punish him, but Gideon can't figure out how he would forget her unless someone has tampered with his memories. The battle (with their wits, banter, and physically) , but is it really battling or is it foreplay?
While that is going on we have the Galen and the Hunters to contend with, as well as Rhea (Scarlet's mother & Cronus' wife) and Cronus himself to deal with. Plus the missions of the Lords & William that I mentioned above.
I'm still on the fence about how I feel about Cronus, and I'm on pins & needles trying to see how all of this will play out.
