Review: Why does there have to be a possibility of a love triangle? 🤦🏽♀️
Anyway, Katie comes to Savannah to work with her aunt and uncle, Lucy and Ben at the Honeysuckle Bakery. An old battle ax is murdered, and the #1 suspect is Ben. Katie seems to think the police need help so she is on the case.
Along with attempting to find another viable suspect, besides her uncle. She finds out she's a witch.
It seems really criminal to me that no one informed her of this in her entire life. Especially since it didn't say anything about them suppressing her powers in some way that would keep her from unknowingly hurting someone all these years.
I didn't think this story was bad, but I know I'm not going to rush off to read book 2, unless I can use it for a reading challenge. 😂

The one I initially picked won't fit, so I need to do another search.

Do you want to reserve some spots before I post my selections?

I live in Northwest La in a small town outside of Shreveport. I think you are the first person I've met here that is that close.

1. Does anyone want to volunteer for captain?
2. Any ideas for team names?
a. Bewitching Readers
b. Trick or Readers
c. Owl put a spell on you
Shan is the shortened version of my name. I live in Louisiana, currently work from home, married for 22 years, mother of 4 (18-28), g-ma of 4 (1-4).
Love to read and challenge addict. Looking forward to bingo and how I'm going to make the books fit with multiple team challenges. A challenge within a challenge. 🤣

Review: I'm really enjoying this world that Patricia Briggs has built.
I love Mercy and Adam's relationship, but I love her relationships with everyone she care's about. However, I don't know anyone who can end up in more drama than Mercy, but I love the way she handles herself throughout.
All of her foes tend to underestimate her. They end up regretting that pretty fast. One of my favorite things has been seeing her come to her own within the pack. There are many who are opposed to her being a part of it, and although she doubts herself a bit in that department, she takes on the task just like she does everything else.

Review: As always, every single time I've done a reread of this series I find something new (or maybe I'm just reminded of things I've forgotten).
This book is the ending of one phase and the beginning of what's to come. We get a lot of answers, but we are also left with enough questions to want to know more. It's actually done in such a way that I don't feel like I have to continue, but I HAVE TO CONTINUE.
This book is all about the revelations. There were so many and even though I knew them it still boggles the mind.
I've probably said this somewhere along the way, but Karen Marie Moning is a genius. This reread was sparked by my need to refresh everything in my mind before finally reading Kingdom of Shadow and Light, which marks the end of the series. I hope she will give us more of her genius in the future.

Review: I really enjoyed this story. How one person can find themselves in so many crazy situations I'll never know. And to have a sidekick like Vero egging you on. It was just downright crazy..
I was captivated from the first, but there is a reason I didn't give this 5 stars. I wanted Finlay to have more backbone when it came to her situation with Steven and Theresa. How are women still putting themselves in a position to be dependent on their significant other without having some type of back up plan is beyond me, especially when you have kids.
I hated that she has to swallow her pride to get this cheating ass to do right by her and their kids. The other part that I thought was weird is her spelling things to Julian, who she really doesn't know. I see that coming back to bite her in the ass somewhere along the way or maybe the author won't go there. Who knows? It still seemed reckless to me.

Review: This starts out with a bang. I was not expecting to get right into the action from the very beginning. It just makes me love this series even more. I love Mercy and I love how much she is willing to help the people she cares about no matter what risk she ends up putting herself in.
I'm also loving her romantic journey. After this book I am completely Team Adam.
I can't wait to see how the events and all the things she had to do effect her moving forward.
