I've loved Ali Hazelwood's other books that I've read, so maybe I'll like either way.

Book: Not the Witch You Wed by April Asher
How it fits:

Book: Bride by Ali Hazelwood
How it fits: Option 3
Pages: 410

No idea on a name yet.
I have selected my 2 books, will post with my detailed choice later."
Thanks, Val!
I'm going to try to log on tomorrow to post my book selections, but it may be some time on Saturday since graduation is tomorrow and we'll be busy most of the day

Only, l’m not very present during weekends because if I little girl sees me with my phone out….she wants it and she’s too young for s..."
That makes perfect sense. The littles automatically go for the phones. My niece does the same, but I only pull it out with her for story time if we're doing an ebook, but I mostly try to get physical books from the library.
If you really don't mind being captain, I don't think it'll be a problem if you're not visible on weekends for this challenge since the calls are on Wednesday's, but I can help if something needs to be done on the weekend.

Review: I believe this was a good start to this series. I was concerned that it wasn't going to give us enough about her background for the reader to understand the why of her life at this point, but I worried for nothing. We get a clear view of what she endured through her talking about it a tad, through her issues with trust, and also through flashbacks of some of the horrific things she went through and how she got away from that.
The book is filled with mages, vampires, ghosts, and werewolves. Alice is a mage and private investigator who works with a ghost. The ghost has been bound to her, which turned out to be a good thing here. This investigation did not go exactly where I saw it going (view spoiler) .
I have to admit that Alice ticked me off with her treatment of Sean, but I was glad to see that the author addressed this in the book, and that made me very happy.
There are so many reasons to continue to the next book in the series. Why is the vampire watching her so closely, what will happen in her love life, will there be a love triangle between her, the vampire, and the werewolf, will she actually have one that is productive with her inability to trust easily, what further trouble can she find herself mixed up in, will her grandfather figure out where she is and if so, what will he do?

Review: I am slowly but surely warming up to Anna and Charles as this series continues. I already love Bran from his appearances in the Mercy Thompson series.
My favorite thing about this series thus far is how much Charles loves Anna. He is with her as he is with no one else, and he will do anything in his immense power to protect her, but Anna is not a shrinking violet even after all she went through in her first pack. She is an Omega and she is still learning what that means. Through that and all the things that comes her way by being connected to Charles and Bran she is also steadily discovering what she is capable of and becoming stronger in the process.
Communication is key, and I love that she and Charles are open with each other verbally, even though Charles is prone to blocking her out of their bond to try to protect her. He is always conscious of the fact that she was abused after she was changed and what that may mean for her mentally, while also not getting in the way of her needs or wants.
We saw how strong Anna was in the first book. She defeated a witch that had the strongest wolves under her thrall. We get to see her in action again and it's even better because with every challenge she grows more confident in herself and in the bond that she and Charles are building.

Review: I love this world that Suzanne Wright has created. So far we've had the Mercury and Phoenix packs, and that is where we first met Alex. I don't remember Bree, but I guess it's a possibility that she came up also.
I loved the fact that this had two people who weren't fated mates but choose one another and imprinted instead. The story behind why they were not with their mates was believable and played a part in the plot of this story. I really liked the fact that in Suzanne Wright's world imprinting is just as solid as a traditional mating and that she doesn't make it seem like you are going to automatically like or even love the person that you are fated to mate.
With all my gushing why didn't I give it 5 stars? Well, that's because I figured out the mystery of it all before it was revealed. If Ms. Wright has kept me in suspense until the end this would have definitely gotten 5 stars.
