Great - now only the hard task to decide which one to read *grins*

for the task: Read a book tagged RETELLING on its GR homepage
would you also accept if it's called variation or reimagining and it's part of the title or blurb?
I'm reading very many indie books and these often don't have enought readers/taggs for a main page genre.
The two books I'm considering for this task are:
A Perpetual Estrangement: Jane Austen's Persuasion Reimagined (subtitle)
Border Son (blurb) With insight and artistry, Samuel Parker brings the dusty and dangerous streets of a Mexican border town into sharp focus in this suspenseful reimagining of the Prodigal Son story.
[got it last night for free - and it's still free - if anyone's interested Amazon.com]

1. If a series book is listed on one of the lists - I will except..."
Thank you that helps to a point and I understand the reasoning.

I'm asking for two reasons:
1. I forgot to add a link in my post and while searching the Best Books on Asia list I stumbled about Terrific Thailand and noticed it has both books in the Time, Blood and Karma series on it - all the other had only the 2nd in series and I really despise reading series out of order.
2. I was born in Poland but spent most of my life in Germany with only little contact to the Polish culture and therefore I'd really love to read a (more contemporary) book by a Polish author set in Poland. So far the lists had only the classics or if it was a book by a Polish author I didn't found anything set in Poland (though I'm not finished yet with all the European list) and I'd really like to explore more of the Polish literature and Polish setting lists.

...read a book that lands in the 200’s on your TBR/WTR shelf sorted by number (share number)
I disabled the sorting option for this shelf last year because it was wrecking havock with my lists and can't show the # now. Would it work for you if I sort the shelf by date added (asc.) and count manually? (I'm doing it for a different challenge anyway, so I'd only have to update my # but had at least an idea what to look for)

World Landmarks - The Leaning Tower of Pisa
Duration: 7/1/19 - 8/31/19
Compled: 13/7+
100+ pages, re-post when finished
1. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a famous landmark in Italy located in the Tuscan city of Pisa. It is actually the campanile or bell tower for the cathedral it stands next to and part of the Campo dei Miracoli or "Square of Miracles" that includes, the cathedral, the baptistery, the bell tower and cemetery. The entire Square was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
*Read a book with a tower or square object on the cover or read a book that takes place in Italy.
Polargebiete by various authors 3* 7/31 lit. transl: Polar Regions - at the bottom of the page are four square pictures
2. It took two centuries to build the tower. Construction started in 1173 and was not completed until 1372. Construction stopped and restarted twice due to the outbreak of war. Several different groups of engineers and architectures have worked on the tower but the original architect who created the plans has never been verified.
*Read a book in which war is a prominent theme or read a book that was written by more than one author.
Die fünf Menschen, die dir im Himmel begegnen=The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom 4* 8/1 - Vietnam war
Race Against Time by Kimberley Woodhouse & Kayla R. Woodhouse 3* 7/5
3. The tower is world famous for its prominent tilt which began as early as 1178, when construction of the second tier began and only grew worse as construction continued. The tower's foundation was built on soft subsoil which has difficulty supporting the tower's weight, creating its famous lean. To try and compensate for the tilt the engineers in 1272 built the upper floors with one side taller than the other giving the tower a slight curve.
*Read a book with a title that starts with a letter in TILT or read a book you thought was unusually heavy (tell us why).
Tall Man in Ray-Bans by Joseph Flynn 3* 7/3
Das Wunder der Unschuld=Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde 6* 7/8 - dysfuntional family life, disfigured war veteran, major spoiler (view spoiler)
4. The tower is eight stories high and made mostly of white marble which gives it is striking white color. The top floor is the bell chamber which can be reached by climbing 294 steps. There you will find seven bells, one sitting in each of the seven arches, the largest one weighing in at nearly 8,000 pounds. Each of the seven bells represent a note of the musical major scale.
*Read a book with a white cover or a series book #7 or #8.
Der Tod ist kein Gourmet=Wicked Words by J.G. Goodhind 3* 7/18 Honey Driver (ermittelt) #7

5. In 1990, when the Tower reached the inclination of 5°, engineers warned that its center of gravity was coming dangerously close to the outer edge of the base and the tower was in serious danger of falling. A massive rescue operation was launched and the tower was closed for "straightening works". It took 30 million EUR and an entire decade to correct the Tower’s lean to an acceptable inclination of 3.97°. The tower was reopened to the public in 2001.
*Read a book published between 1990 and 2001 or read a book that featured a major reconstruction project (tell us what it was).
Immortal in Death by J.D. Robb 5* 7/1 - orig. publication: 1996
Memory Man=Memory Man by David Baldacci 5* 7/20 - after a near fatal accident during his first NFL games the MC has to change his life in each area of his life - especially since his brain's working in a different way now
6. There are actually several other towers in Pisa that also lean: the bell towers at both St. Michele dei Scalzi and St. Nicola. The cathedral and baptistery in the square are also slowly sinking. It is no surprise to learn that the city of Pisa got its name in 600 BC from a Greek word meaning "marshy land".
*Read a book with a MC whose first name starts with a letter in PISA or read a book by an author that has the letters ST (intact) found in their name.
Going Once, Going Twice, Dead by Jerri Drennen 4* 7/12 - Simone Preston
ALPHA by Steven Konkoly 4* 8/30 - first name
7. The Italian scientist Galileo Galilei, a professor of mathematics at the University of Pisa, is said to have dropped two spheres of different masses from the tower to demonstrate that their speed of descent was independent of their mass. According to the story, he discovered that both objects fell with the same acceleration, disproving Aristotle's theory of gravity which states that objects fall at speed proportional to their mass. Though there is no evidence that this actually occurred and many call it a legend or wives tale.
*Read a book with a character that is a scientist or professor or read a book tagged NON-FICTION on its GR Homepage.
Rapture in Death by J.D. Robb 4* 7/14 - several scientists
While I'm Waiting: Going from despair to hope while praising God and choosing contentment during trials by Laura Hodges Poole 4* 8/14 (103 pages) - a devotional and per definition (usually Christian) non-fiction["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
