@Vicki - this is free on KU so grab it and see if you get addicted :) If you are OCD about editing you might not but the story just keeps getting better and better (up to book #17 now)
Death Becomes HerI have
Dustwalker gathering dust in my TBR until I get caught up on my Kutherian books I am behind on (it is an addiction)
@Victoria - you have to get through
Moonshadow which is a good 4 Star book so you can read
Spellbinder which is an amazing 5 Star novel (but you need facts from that first book)

Well if you are asking about an actual thread of discussion there is none, we just kind of throw stuff out and if somebody makes a comment of it all we are good :) I have missed the last 2 books in her series mainly due to too many commitments and now I am pulling back a bit on my reviewing so I can read all the Kutherian Universe series that I want to without drowning in review backlog :)
Reading this one today (read the one before yesterday)
Rebirth: Age Of Expansion - A Kurtherian Gambit Series

Yeah, I can't believe there was ever a real thought NOT to continue that series. I just find it amazing that they can keep turning out exceptional novels like they do.

I don't really know about that BUT the original story arc ended after 3 books, these last 2 books are more romance and cleanup from the events of the trilogy, you could actually read the first 3 and stop if you wish but I really enjoyed the last book
The Staff and the Blade but it was told in a history/today type of writing and also cleaned up some stories that were left hanging a bit in the trilogy. This new book
The Silent is all present day and sets up a whole new group of people which may be why I found it a bit less exciting since a lot of it is world building (for lack of a better term, telling you all about the children of the Fallen) but it does leave you with several couples that I assume she will build on for the future. I have always told people that as good as the action parts of her books are they are primarily a romance that is happening in a storm of actions :)

Well I finished
The Silent and it was a great 4 Star book but from someone who I have grown to expect nothing less than 5 Star novels I guess it was a bit of a disappointment, from some other author it might have been considered a great accomplishment but from her it was not up to usual standards IMHO. Don't get me wrong, this is a GOOD book and I can see spin-offs for new couples but she is trying to balance being a mother of a teenage boy, a newly wed, a world traveler and being one of the best writers in the paranormal genre which unless you are a super hero, something will suffer and this book shows it does not reach that bar she has set so high in her past books but read my review and I always welcome comments

I remember writing that review but still can't really remember the book that much, sounds like I enjoyed the story even with a ton of filler in the book. Now I am not sure what to do LOL

It is embarrassing when somebody else has to tell me what I read LOL Now I got to go read it and see if I can kick my memory into gear (thanks BTW)

I got offered this book
The Lost VampireThe Lost Vampire (Last True Vampire series) by Kate Baxter and while the series sounds familiar I am pretty sure I have read none of them, anyone else read any of this series and
A: Is it good
B: Could I actually start on book 5 in the series and enjoy it?
any help appreciated.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on T..."I feel somewhat the same about the Irin books but they all follow a similar path, a slow start and then somewhere around the middle become "can't put it down" although that first book ending must be one of the all time emotional endings. This one seems to be following a similar path and as with all of them she manages to wrap a lot of heart felt romance into the mix of what I am never sure if it is supposed to be a romantic adventure story or a drama/adventure with a romance mixed in :)

Same order I read them :)

Trying to finish up Elizabeth Hunter's
The Silent so I can return to the Kutherian universe, too many book too little time :(

I was assuming you read the Class 5 series starting with
Dark Horse when the rest of us were reading it on the other forum. If not get it TODAY it also is free on KU

If you want a good "space opera" type story try
Sky Raiders and
Calling the Change or if you have not tried it, one of the best series in years IMHO but not for those who are too OCD about editing.
Death Becomes Her both of these series are FREE on KU and the first looks to be a trilogy when finished and the Kutherian books are up to 17 now in the original series and I lost count of the spin-offs LOVE THIS UNIVERSE

Lexi George is looking for people to read/write reviews for her new book
Demon Hunting with a Sexy Ex and gave me a NetGalley link I can give out if anyone reads this series and would like a free copy (you need to already have a NetGalley account) and will write a review please message me or email me

Well I finished
Spellbinder and also
Calling the Change and Spellbinder was the first 5 Star rating for one of her books in a long time and Calling the Change was the middle book in what I think is going to be a trilogy in the Sky Raiders series and it was really good but with most middle books a lot of action with a lot of things left for the last book (I hope)

I am fairly sure that HBO has enough resources to make it to a great ending even without him :) I only watched one season (because I wanted to see the dragons, the child in me) but I refuse to support him because I get too involved in my books and TV shows to see beloved characters killed off just to entertain his warped sense of humor.

He is an insult to all those authors out there working hard to try to make it big.

I had to back up and read them all again after I read the Rogan POV in her website

In general if an author reacts to a critical review in such a way sounds like you might have to just treat them like any other author. I have a light relationship (mostly Facebook) with several authors but I try to make sure I do not let that affect my reviews, I had had a couple drop/block me but then again I almost never have to write a "bad" review about the most talented authors, sometimes book 4 might not hold up to book 3 and I have used that in the past critically but if an author cannot take me review for what it is meant to be (opinion and advice) then they need to grow up a bit, I don't write anything like a "hit" piece (except for The Author Who Shall Not Be Named as we know Aussie Girl).
I think I was one of the only reviewers around that while it seemed everyone was gushing over these books I was writing scathing reviews on
A Promise of Fire
and the sequel
Breath of Fire
both of which I saw as kidnapping, abuse and Stockholm Syndrome more than a romance but the lemmings quickly voted those reviews down even though I loved the actual story, the main couple needed serious therapy I thought in their abusive relationship :)
I guess the point of all this rambling is, you have to be honest when writing a review and write what you felt and not what is always acceptable. The other side of that coin is that maybe I was wrong but it was STILL the way I felt so I write it that way. Reviewing is not a popularity contest but too many of them read like a publicist wrote them (something else The Author Who Shall Not Be Named did and attacked people in the forums who disliked her books LOL)

IMHO these are still much better than the newer BDB or anything by Sherrilyn Kenyon who I thought walked on water so to speak until Acheron's book and everything she wrote since was 50% "torture the hero" BUT I am giving thought to trying her new
Deadmen Walking series
