Glad to have you, can't go wrong with anything of Ilona Andrews and JR Ward is still a favorite of the majority of folks, I had to give her up, just got too tired of tortured heroes and self loathing :)

222868 Is it just me or did A Veil of Secrets (Araneae Nation, #5) by Hailey Edwards A Veil of Secrets NOT feel like the end of a series (which it apparently was)

I read up to Stone-Cold Fox and never got back to the series, it was good although the first 2 books were not as good as her previous stuff the series got much better, that is a LOT of good reading for a KU book

222868 re: Cambio Springs - Yeah, I was glad to see that since I was not sure if she would ever get back to that series since she announced she would devote her time to things that paid the bills :)

222868 Well I thought today might be a good day to give you something to look forward to until the release of Wildfire Wildfire (Hidden Legacy, #3) by Ilona Andrews by Ilona Andrews .... this is not a spoiler but something to remember. Read the book all the way to the end and especially the last sentence :)

Took me about 4 hours before it hit me :)

222868 I just finished Storm Raiders: Age Of Magic - A Kurtherian Gambit SeriesStorm Raiders and it kept my interest and was a solid 4 Stars story but did not have that "addicting" vibe some of the others have had for me.

Just got this in email regarding Elizabeth Hunters books for this year:

Upcoming releases 2017:

Linx and Bogie—Just released!

The Silent—July 28, 2017

An all new Cambio Springs short story(!!!)—Fall 2017

First Elemental Legacy novel—Winter 2017

222868 I am still plowing through Prince of Fools and it a pleasure and a pain to read :) It will lull you to think it is becoming boring and then something will happen or he will inject some LOL humor at odd places. Just passed the 70% mark and wishing they were in a hot climate, reading about people being cold makes me cold :)

222868 As long as I am throwing out free books today, this The Summons is only 21 pages and FREE to everyone but it WILL hook you into the 5 Star series (book 1 here) The Goblin King (Shadowlands, #1) by Shona Husk which is a trilogy, it is FREE on KU (these are $8 books) and sort of sadly they are the best things she has ever written, I read all her books and the other series have ranged about 4 Stars and while good have missed the "exceptional" mark of this series (the last 2 books of the Annwyn Series might be as good)

222868 Anyone want a good free book today? only 99 pages but it is the starter novel to a good series but you can read this (no cliffhanger) and decide if you want to continue, I have read them all and other than the fact there are 3 heroines and she is devoting 5 books to each (4 should have been the max) it has been a great ride, she is on the last 4/5 books now so you have about 10 books waiting if you like it and they are all on KU and I have rated them all in the 4-5 stars range. Give it a try for free Hidden Magic on Amazon but my other nit paick is the covers look like teenagers, the stories say they are 19-20 year old and the writing reflects more like 25-30 year old. A minor thing but it hits me every time I see one of the covers.

I have it in my TBR and a lot of people really liked it, curious to hear what you think. Great writing telling a poor story does not interest me and many of those folks that loved it were authors who like many books just for the writing

222868 Pretty much all of the magic series in the Kutherian universe (so far) have almost no link to anything else, they mention some things vaguely but this is like 350 years in the future. The best series in this universe IMHO are:

the original Kutherian Gambit
The second Dark Ages (Michael's return Books which will link up with the original series for a big finale)
The Ascension Myth and Reclaiming Honor are about equally entertaining
The Rise of Magic series is good (finally was really good by the end of book 4 which should have ended in book 3) and there is only 1 book in the Storm Raiders series and I liked it

Obviously there are at least 3-4 more series I have not tried, the new Hidden Magic Chronicles looks like it might be good but the synopsis just did not excite me and I really need to read The Red Queen's War since I paid some serious money for it LOL

222868 Well in the weird world of Amazon reviews, back many months ago (maybe a year or more??) Amazon changed the way they presented reviews and the way they ranked reviewers. I went from Top Reviewer #230 to #350 almost overnight which was a slight blow to my ego but more of a "how did that happen" a question I still am not sure of other than it did penalize people who read Advanced Reading Copies (ARCs) from the author or publisher so i was surprised to see I had made it back to #297 today after almost a year and I still have no real clue why or how they make these decisions but I guess that is a good thing in the long run. I do like the absence of trolls and "not helpful" voting here on Goodreads better.

222868 Well I know nothing about this book besides the price and the synopsis but it sounded like a good book for those days when you just need something different and 169 pages for 99 cents I figured not much to lose :) The Wallflower's Wicked Wager I also saw nothing that made me think there was any need to read the prior books in this series.

222868 I still miss those Pride books, they were great :) the Crows might get up to that level but they are not there yet but this last book was better than book 1 but she had to do a lot of world building so I am expecting book 3 to really be good if the series is going to survive. There is nothing being written by anyone that compares with the Dragon Kin IMHO :)
