Just read the winners of the Goodreads Awards and wonder why I even bother, it becomes obvious many if not most categories were fixed. Let us throw in a lightweight contemporary gay romance won 2 of the categories by over 3 times the votes of the 2nd place novel shows some serious voting oddity to say the least, it has never really been totally fair with publishers pushing certain books but this year it is just ridiculous IMHO but I will probably give it a try again next year like I always do.

Reading
Devil in Spring and I had forgotten how good these books were, the heroine is so off the wall you feel sorry for her and then want to slap her. In this story the hero is almost perfect but it actually plays out pretty well and the romance is done well but the more erotic scenes seem to drag on to the point you get bored IMHO but none of that stands in the way of a very good story. NOTE: Reading the previous books is not required but would help you recognize some of the characters.

Well I had a few "No Rush" credits built up and saw this one and for 99 cents and a bit of a Sleeping Beauty theme even though it is contemporary romance I had to get it, think I am collecting more books than I am reading. From the reviews I am not alone :)

From everything I read it sounded more like she trusted a lawyer that she should not have and ignored common sense of her own :)

I find it funny that so many of us own a book it seems none of us has read yet LOL

@LAB - I understand how you hire an lawyer to advice you but every now and then your own common sense should tell you to ignore him :) The article I read said her attorney came up with this idea.

LOL, (In Jeff Foxworthy's voice) if you have books you don't remember buying or reading you must be a book addict :)

As many times as I have seen a book and thought "that sounds really good" and went to buy it and it says "You purchased this book on 12th of xxxx) then I have to struggle with my bad memory to remember if I ever read it or not LOL. You are in good company TINNGG

This is FREE to everyone today, sounds interesting and I have no idea when I get the time to read it but I had to have it :) Someone who dies for a living ???

@Kristi - "died only 7 weeks after her cancer diagnosis." - same thing happened to my sister-in-law in August, but she waited too long before seeking treatment and I was in the room when the doctor told her it could not be treated it was in so many places and she also lasted about 7 weeks but the thing that got my wife was that once she went under hospice care (her pain was pretty terrible) we never got to speak to her again, she was on meds so strong she was never really lucid again, it was just a matter of waiting for her to pass. Anyone that is thinking of hospice care might want to say their goodbyes before starting it.

FYI - She has just released the 2nd book in this series that appears to have nothing to do with book 1 but I grabbed it
A Beastly Kind of Earl

Even with many interruptions I was finally able to finish
A Wicked Kind of Husband and it was a very mixed bag because they never seemed to do what you expected and I learned to love it. It was frustrating and entertaining and after I was finished I realized it was very well written or you would not care so much about so many things going on in this story. I am tempted to give it 5 Stars but I will need to think about that because it drove me crazy in parts :) He was a bit of an idiot and a bit of a saint, you never knew which part you might get and some tragic things in his past made him that way but I think I shall need to see if she has written anything else of this quality. Generally speaking though, a book that drags through several emotions is well written :)

I had several books I should be reading for review but
A Wicked Kind of Husband popped up in the next book to be read box on my Kindle and since several of you mentioned it I have started it, I have not seen a historical that started with a woman getting sloppy drunk LOL

Most of my reading these days is historical romance and urban fantasy but the only time I really enjoy contemporary is when it has a lot of humor in it.

Any birthday I can still fool myself into thinking I am much younger is a good one :) When I hit those that I have to look in the mirror and say "DAMN, you are old" then it might take the shine off off of it a bit LOL

Just finished one that is mostly YA in nature and thought I would hate it since it has teenage angst and a love triangle, some of the things I hate the most but I loved the story enough I asked the people at PRG who gave me book 1 to ask for book 2 for me to review LOL. I should have hated almost everything about this book but sometimes one just gets under your skin

Lulu wrote: "Oh wow, I haven't thought about those NR trilogies in a long time. I remember discussing them back in our old thread at Amazon."When I first started on the old Amazon forum seems like a significant number of us were all reading the same books :)

The last book of Nora Robert's Chronicles of the One trilogy
The Rise of Magicks is coming out, wondered if anyone had read any of this trilogy? 2 of my favorite trilogies ever were written by her but some of the others have been a bit lame IMHO.
These 2 are superb IMHO
The Circle trilogySign of Seven trilogy

Well damn, my KU queue is full and a friend says these 2 books are fall in the floor funny so I had like $24 in "no-rush" credits built up so there went $8 of them :)
