I finished In The Woods (Dublin Murder Squad #1)by Tana French for week #41 A mystery.

I completed In the Woods (Dublin Murder Squad #1) by Tana French. I really enjoyed it. It's the first book by her I have read. I gave it 5 stars. I read cozy mysteries. I love the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series. I also read the Maisie Dobbs series. I didn't like Gone Girl or Girl on the train.

It was. I loved the story & the writing. I was totally engaged.

16-60 CE (Common Era) The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd

I finished The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd. I used it for week 10 a book between 400-600 pages.

The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd
416 pages
Yes I read books this length all the time. I saved this prompt for when I ran out of prompts to put books because I knew this week would be easy to fill.

Sepphoris or Zippori in central Galilee region of Israel, Nazareth,
Alexandria Lake Mareotis, Egpyt. Jerusalem,Bethany. The Book of Longings,Sue Monk Kidd.

I really like the idea of reading a book in the year you turned 21, 1977. I did a quick look & I have a lot of good options. I was surprised to see how many of those books I had read. I was also surprised to see how many of those authors are still popular and working today.

The exact same here. I knew nothing about her. I had never read her books before. I was also intrigued by her story.

Naples, Florida. Untamed by Glennon Doyle

I didn't plan to coincide with pride month either but I finished Untamed by Glennon Doyle. I enjoyed it. Gave it 4 stars.

I read Untamed by Glennon Doyle for this prompt.
I enjoy reading new releases but by the time I get them they are no longer new releases. Maybe one year I'll read all new releases.

I also like the social justice prompt. I like reading outside my comfort zone. I like the money prompt.

I like that prompt

Speaking of diversity. A book by a BIPOC author.
Another thing to think about concerning the deck of cards discussion. How about a book related to a deck of tarot cards? It could be faces on the cards. A character in a book reads tarot cards.

Palo Alto,California. Pride,Prejudice, and Other Flavors by Sonali Dev

I read 2 five star books in May.
Men We Reaped by Jesmyn Ward.
ebook
# 45 A book by the same author who wrote one of your best reads in 2019 or 2018.
I gave it 5 stars because she is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is so honest and she always makes me think.
Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman
ebook
# 33 a book about an non-traditional Family
I had been looking forward to reading this book. I think I enjoyed it so much because I was positive going into it.

I read Pride,Prejudice, and Other Flavors by Sonali Dev. I read it for a different challenge. I was looking at unfinished prompts for ATY. I was going to use it # 10 A book between 400-600 pages. Then I was Oh Yeah, there's an emotion in the title. # 24 has been a hard prompt for me to fill so I put it there.

I like the idea of a book without an award listed on it’s GR page. I also like the idea of a book that won a lesser known award. I think most genres have some kind of award.
I have a couple of other ideas. I enjoy reading graphic novels. I never read one till I started doing reading challenges. Ideas could be, read a graphic novel, read a graphic memoir, read a graphic novel by an LGBTQIA creator. I think we could find a graphic novel prompt for any genre.
For other reading challenges I have read books published by indie presses, micro presses and self published. I find these prompts hard because I have to do research but I have enjoyed the titles I read.

My friend gave me a 3 month subscription September 2019. I hadn’t read print or paperbacks in years. BOTM only does print books, no ebooks. I tried for 2 months & didn’t like the selections. I didn’t want to pick books I wasn’t interested in. I thanked her but said I wasn’t going to use it & please get your money back. Yes I’m a horrible person. Of course I started volunteering at our local library in January 2020 & started reading print books again. Since I’m doing 3 challenges I try not to buy every book. My face to face book club is reading The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd for June. The ebook has a 6 month wait. I understand this was recently a BOTM club pick. So it came around & bit me.
