I second 2 weeks read 2 books from very different genres.

I haven’t checked in since early July. Time flys. I have finished 3 books since 7/9/20. None for ATY challenge.
1. Listen,Slowly by Thanhha Lai. It’s a middle grade book set in Vietnam. 3 stars.
2. Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family by Robert Kolker. It’s nonfiction. The Galvin family consists of 12 children born 1945-1965. 10 boys & the last 2 children were girls. 6 of the boys developed schizophrenia. You can look at this description & imagine the chaos in this house. The story is very dark, sad, & everything bad you imagined happened does. It’s a hard read but for me it was worth all the emotion. 5 stars.
3. Good Boy: My Life in Seven Dogs by Jennifer Finney Boylan. 3 stars. Nonfiction it is a story of gender transition told in stages of the authors life & about the dogs she had during those periods.

Good Morning team snow cones. I just started The Great Influenza by John M. Barry. It is thick so today I will read as much as I can & get as far as I can. I do have a few things to do today including a face to face book club meeting. I don’t mind taking time away from a read-a-thon for a book club meeting. Good luck everyone.

OK. I’ll use Good Boy for #8 What is your favorite TV show? My Life & Welcome to it was named in the book as a favorite show.

I finished Good Boy My Life in Seven Dogs A Memoir by Jennifer Finney Boylan. I used it for # 4 What would you do in life if you knew you could not fail? Transition. # 8 What is your favorite TV Show? My Life and Welcome to It. Question? How many questions can you use one book for? There are other questions I can use this book for?

Good Morning. It’s 5:38 am here. I’m currently reading Good Boy by Jennifer Finney Boyland. It’s not a thick book so I’ll see what I can do. If I don’t finish today will do so tomorrow. Will keep you posted.

Hi Team Snow cones. I’m very excited about our name. I feel cool every time I think of snow cones. It is very hot here & will be hotter next week. My current read is Good Boy My life in Seven Dogs. A Memoir by Jennifer Finley Boylan.

If the recipe prompt wins I’ll read Save Me the Plums:My Gourmet Memoir by Ruth Reichl. I’ve wanted to read it for years so 2021 may be the time to read it.

I was thinking of a graphic novel of any genre. Fiction, nonfiction, memoir, fairy tales, science fiction, etc.

I finished Me and White Supremacy:Combat Racism,Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor by Layla F.Saad. I read it for a face to face book club I like it & gave it 3 stars.

A fiction or nonfiction book related to mental health. May is Mental Health Awareness Month & Saturday October 10 is World Mental Health Day. The book can be related to mental health in any way. Memoir, True Crime, Short Stories, the psychology behind something.

The Amelia Peabody series will work for the Egypt prompt, right?

Danvers, MA. We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry

1989 We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry

So far only 1 book for July. I don't know what took me so long to read this one. I really liked it. We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry for week # 44 A book related to witches. I gave it 5 stars because I liked it so much.

I read We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry. I chose the book because it looked interesting. I liked the 80's throwback. I played field hockey in the 70's but no Emilio. We did have parties though.I gave it 5 stars.

Phillipa Soo was spectacular in the last act. I felt she had the hardest & most emotional songs at the end. There was Burn, It’s Quiet Uptown, then Who Lives,Who Dies,Who Tells Your Story. Her facial expressions during all of these songs moved me. Her acting was spot on.

Thanks for the suggestion for reading Hamilton for something good that happened in 2020. I want to read it too. I read My Dear Hamilton:A novel of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton by Stephanie Dray & Laura Kamoie. I really liked it. It has helped me with the history in the play.
