173974 Sounds great, thanks Judy! Definitely on my list!
173974 Finished this, and didn´t like it as much as Fell Murder and Murder in the Mill-Race. Especially the end was rather put-on, and not all the threads were merged.

173974 The Deutsche Krimi Preis is obviously a prize without money, which is given to three German and three International publications every year. Thanks for all the links!

173974 I also got some porno spam, as a girl with a telephone number relating to this asked to be a friend or followed my reviews, I don´t remember which. I blocked her, but did nothing else, so I suppose others had the same problem and reported it to GR. Pity they can´t turn on the notifications after several days!

173974 Love the Royal Spyness series, though I haven´t come far yet! There´s also a holidays book, The Twelve Clues of Christmas, which I think is the sixth book in the series.

You can nominate anything else too! :)
173974 You´re right, the old one was better this time! :)

173974 I nominate Portrait of a Murderer by Anne Meredith.

"Adrian Gray was born in May 1862 and met his death through violence, at the hands of one of his own children, at Christmas, 1931." Thus begins a classic crime novel published in 1933, a riveting portrait of the psychology of a murderer.

Each December, Adrian Gray invites his extended family to stay at his lonely house, Kings Poplars. None of Gray's six surviving children is fond of him; several have cause to wish him dead. The family gathers on Christmas Eve - and by the following morning, their wish has been granted. This fascinating and unusual novel tells the story of what happened that dark Christmas night; and what the murderer did next.

173974 This is new for me, so I´ll definitely read it, though perhaps later in the month.

173974 I finished this today, and after a funny beginning with a self-donfident heroine, it becomes rather boring, and it´s mostly about this romance that ends as we supposed and which isn´t to my gusto. Emerson is much too unpleasant for Peabody. The end is rushed too. As you said, too little mystery. Wonder if anyone who read the others in the series can recommend which one to read best?

I read The Leper of St. Giles, but would like to continue the Cadfael series! :)

173974 I ordered it from my library. Didn´t like The Daughter of Time, but maybe this one is better. ;)

173974 I will get the Jackman and Evans series by Joy Ellis, and can recommend the audiobooks you get for 2.95€ when you buy the kindles, as they´re read by Richard Armitage! :)
