Crocodile on the Sandbank
1st in the Amelia Peabody series and a future buddy read is also 99p at the moment, if anyone wants to pick it up."Thanks Susan! I already had it on my kindle when there was another free or cheap offer. :)

I´d also like to read Elizabeth Peters. Have recently added the Amelia Peabody series to my tbr pile! ;)

I recently read this, and - though I liked the story - found the mystery not so obvious. Esp. the "solving" through a duel wasn´t to my taste.
I didn´t like Beringar at first, but his "fight" with Cadfael is funny. The romances were okay, though the one of Beringar and Aline very sudden.

I finally read this, and loved the story, but also found the mystery a bit flat. Will post more in the spoiler thread.

Thanks for the link Judy!
I´d like to nominate the second Inspector Meredith mystery instead:
The Lake District Murder by
John Bude.

Is there a list of the books read in this group, so that I could nominate something else? I got some books of the British Library Crime Classics on my tbr list.

I think nobody understood the end of the TV Pale Horse, but I didn´t read the book (yet). Seems to be quite different though.
I agree wholeheartedly about Zen, it was soooo good! A shame they didn´t continue it!

Welcome Lizzie! Reading the Cadfael series too.

Welcome LittleDuck! Who doesn´t love Agatha Christie? ;)

Thanks Susan! The Miss Hewett mysteries (except the third for free) are all availabe for 99p. Wonder if anyone can recommend the series?

Welcome Vicki! Same regarding Poirot and Cadfael! :)

Thanks Judy, perhaps I´ll buy the first one too! ;)

Judy, I "bought" it too, as it looked good to me!
Do you know if you have to read the first book first or are they stand-alones?

I confess I never read the book, but it was obviously a very different adaptation. And Rufus was splendid! :)

Thanks again Susan! The Pale Horse will soon be in cinemas with Rufus Sewell.

Thanks Susan for adding the cover and blurb! :)
