I totally missed this poll, but will not read Somerset Maugham.

I only found out now, but I think the books are stand-alones.

I wondered about the servants too! I thought it would perhaps take place in the 20s, if not earlier!

As I mentioned on the other thread I found the beginning very slow, but once the murder was committed, it was better.

I agree about the suspicious husband, and I was sure Richard wasn´t the culprit, as he was mentioned a lot in the beginning.

Yes, if that´s okay, please! I found it when looking for the Lorac mysteries.

I could get The Sussex Downs Murder by John Bude in my library.

I will complete this, though the murder hasn´t happened after 28% yet! I understand that it´s supposed to show all the persons (and relations between them) who can be possible suspects, but they are a lot, and it also takes a lot of time.

Anyway, which earlier mystery would you recommend? Thanks!

I´ve read a lot of chapters till now, and the murder hasn´t happened till now (a bit boring), but will soon I guess. Looking ahead to this!

I´d be interested in the Loracs too, though I don´t know if they´re standing alone, as I never read one.

I´ve just detected this, so hope to join in soon, as I´ve long wanted to read the Cadfael novels! :)

We only have a few Marsh mysteries here in the Viennese libraries, and those in German, so I bought False Scent for my kindle, as the physical books are quite expensive. I hope it will be good! ;)
