173974 Thanks Judy, I leave it be for now. There are enough good nominations. :)

173974 Good idea! I wonder what prices are sometimes achieved when a book isn´t available atm.

173974 Sorry, I didn´t look for availability, as I got the kindle too, so if this is a problem, I´ll think of something else. :)

173974 I nominate Murder in Vienna by E.C.R. Lorac. Murder in Vienna by E.C.R. Lorac

Superintendent Macdonald, CID, studied his fellow-passengers on the Vienna plane simply because he couldn’t help it, because he hadn’t conditioned himself to being on holiday. The distinguished industrialist he recognised: the stout man he put down (quite mistakenly) as a traveller in whisky. The fair girl was going to a job (he was right there) and the aggressive young man in the camel coat might be something bookish. Macdonald turned away from his fellow-passengers deliberately; they weren’t his business, he was on holiday - or so he thought.
173974 Will join in.

173974 Pity Fingerpost isn´t on sale here, but I´ll participate in some of the others. Thanks all! :)

173974 I got Murder in Stained Glass only for 3.79€ on the German site. Only one edition, and never been on sale.

173974 Can highly recommend Long Petal of the Sea.
173974 Finished this, and was rather disappointed. Also thought it repetitive and boring after a while. The solution wasn´t too great either, but I liked Cadfael finding his son - though I didn´t catch that at first.

I read the first two in the Brothers Gwynedd by Edith Pargeter. Not easy to get into, but I´ll read the other two one day too.

173974 Sandy wrote: "Following up on The Secrets of Wishtide I see the third book is expected in December."

Got the first book from a charity shop, but haven´t read it yet.
173974 I´ll start this soon, as I read all the other books before. :)
173974 Finally finished it, and was also disappointed about the murderer. There was nobody left, because Ruth and Ronald seemed so improbable, later also Cowper. If the book weren´t in the vicar series, I´d have thought it was him, as I expected someone we already knew, or perhaps suicide in an odd manner.

I liked the Cheltenham and Sussex, but still got Lake District at home. Hope it´s not too bad. ;)
173974 Will start this one today.
173974 At least they walk along cliffs which aren´t well secured, as I heard about an online friend whose brother died falling from a cliff (normal weather though).
173974 I finished it today, and liked it more than I thought. The psychological background within the family was very well described, though I thought it dragged after a while. Wasn´t necessarily a mystery as I expected, but the problems of adopted children, parents on the whole and partnerships was interesting.

I saw the series of 2007, though a while ago, and - spoiler for this series (view spoiler).

173974 Never read Crispin, but will of course try him. Thanks Susan! Looking ahead to the Cadfael! :)

173974 Great, thanks Susan! Got two that were on sale at my place too.

173974 I nominate Death of an Airman by Christopher St. John Sprigg.

Death of an Airman is an enjoyable and unorthodox whodunit from a writer whose short life was as remarkable as that of any of his fictional creations. When an aeroplane crashes, and its pilot is killed, Edwin Marriott, the Bishop of Cootamundra in Australia, is on hand. In England on leave, the Bishop has decided to learn how to fly, but he is not convinced that the pilot's death was accidental. In due course, naturally, he is proved right. The Bishop and Inspector Bray of Scotland Yard make an appealing pair of detectives, and ultimately a cunning criminal scheme is uncovered.

173974 I will also read it, though perhaps a little later in March.
173974 Looking ahead to reading it, to give Bude another try.
