I´d like to read the Bellairs too, as I already got it at home. :)

It´s available for $7 on kindle, about 14 for the paperback, a bit cheaper on the German site.

Pity about the Lorac, but Haynes is always cheaply available on kindle.

I plan to read this, already got the book at home. :)

I also liked the story set in the college, and the girls who tried to play detectives, but the mystery was weak and easy to find out. The end with the suicide and letter was only avarage.

For Christmas perhaps the story collection
The Christmas Card Crime and Other Stories, edited by
Martin Edwards? with stories by
E.C.R. Lorac,
John Bude and others.

I think I heard about this... thanks Judy!

I nominated something else, see post #7.
Susan wrote: "I actually have a copy of Murder in Vienna on kindle, Michaela, but the Amazon page says the 'item is under review.' Not sure what is going on there, but it definitely was available on kindle previ..."I bought it on kindle a while ago too, but it´s not available on the German page anymore either. I wonder if it´s becuase of the Brexit, because I found that several books haven´t been available here for a while which wasn´t a problem earlier.

Perhaps another Lorac that´s available in the US, UK and DE:
Crossed Skis: An Alpine Mystery by
Carol Carnac
In London’s Bloomsbury, Inspector Julian Rivers of Scotland Yard looks down at a dismal scene. Here is the victim, burnt to a crisp. Here are the clues – clues which point to a good climber and expert skier, and which lead Rivers to the piercing sunshine and sparkling snow of the Austrian Alps.
Here there is something sinister beneath the heady joys of the slopes, and Rivers is soon confronted by a merry group of suspects, and a long list of reasons not to trust each of them. For the mountains can be a dangerous, changeable place, and it can be lonely out between the pines of the slopes...

Sorry about the Lorac - will think of something else...

Want to read it, but probably later in the month. Trying to get an audiobook.

Wow, sounds great! Enjoy your holidays Judy! :)

Welcome charcoal! Many Christie fans here too! :)

Finished it today, and though I liked the book so far, the ending was really disappointing, also the "locked-room" mystery. I also guessed that Bender was in it, as he was found hurt, which didn´t fit with the other murders. On the whole I liked the writing and the figures.

Squashed this into the last two days of the month, and found it really disappointing. Wonder that it had so many 5 stars rates, but they may have been "bought" or exchanged.

I read it earlier this year, and it wasn´t my cup of tea either.
