I actually didn't know that Treasure Planet was a retelling of Treasure Island, but that makes sense. And, I have never seen it, so maybe I should once I am done reading this!

Treasure Island was the victor for September!

Great turn out for the poll - I am thinking next month (or maybe November as I was thinking of a horror themed poll for October) will be a showdown between the next four in line from this poll as we certainly had a lot of discussion about them.

I will say that I remember enjoying the beginning as well.

Here is my review - I originally just gave it a star rating. I decided to add an actual review since the group was reading it.

I am enjoying it a lot, but it is very easy to see why some people wouldn't - or would at least struggle to enjoy it.

I think for a bit there is some incongruity in time frame from chapter to chapter. I am a bit farther along in the book, and the chapters have been fairly consistent in time for a bit.

The Best Of the Last Poll - September 2019

I just posted a very large poll - these are 20 books that have all come in last place at one time or another in our group polls. I figure making a poll with all the last place books is in the spirit of the completest ideology. There are always those books you really don't feel like reading but you know you should. So, if the group hesitated previously, this time one of them has to win.

I always wanted them to have a season of Survivor that is all people voted off the island first. This is probably the closest I am going to get!

I am not sure yet if I will remove options after the first 24 hours or not like I usually do. I may want all of these options to simmer a bit . . .

I wasn't sure what to expect, but 27 pages in and this is pretty darn interesting! It has a Ready Player One feel.

I may have just not been in the right frame of mind when I read this. But, from what I remember it is no one that will ever likely have me rushing out to reread it. But, I am glad to hear that others are enjoying (or have enjoyed)!
