For the moment, there are some changes with 2014 (new in bold, deleted in strike). Of course, it's possible the staff will change this just before the launch!
Haha Manda, it's pretty funny because for me, there's no character development in the book. At the end of the book, I was totally unable to describe the personality of the characters (except "very annoying" or "good guy/bad guy/smart guy") which is (for me) a sign of a pretty shallow characterization.I'm curious about what will happen in the 2nd book, but as finally I'm on the "hate side" (even if the book had some qualities), I think it will continue like this with the sequels and I'm really not interested in reading annoying/dull books.
The Awards will be opened soon as they talk about it in the last app update. The GR staff picks a list of nominated books for each category and members can add books too (I suppose they show only when there are hundred or thousand write-in for them).
I voted last year but hadn't read most of the books, so I did it only when I really liked the book. Several nominated ended in my 2015 RC and were really good, so I'm looking forward to the new batch. I'll vote this year too if I read the books :)
Why, you don't have 3 arms? It's nice that the baby lets you read a little. Did you start to look at the children books you could read him? :)
I agree, Death is great! I really like Granny too!I read the Hogfather a long time ago so I just remember it wasn't one of my favorites in Discworld, but it was a nice read!
2 are from my top 5 which is good and the dystopia is unexpected (I didn't vote for it, even if I'm reading all the dystopias I see).Time to update the list :D
For the female author, it seems that some men tend to avoid them on purpose (the asomption is that women always add cheesy romances to their books). Books by women (other than romances) are less highlighted too. So this category is to balance a little the choices in reading. So, you can challenge yourself a little more with this week or try a new female author!
I recommend The Graveyard Book for your next, or American Gods sequel of course. I haven't read American Gods for the moment as I preferred to catch-up with his children books, but it's nice to see it's another good one.
Dragons are in my reading list since forever as I'm a huge fan of The Death Gate cycle (same authors). Last time I checked, there weren't ebooks for them, so no improvement in their "to read" state. Tell me what you think about them :)
