Can you add the week for your book (edit your post and choose the week in the list) or tell us the week so a mod could move the thread? Thanks :)

I never read Candide and it's not in my projects :p
I'm looking forward to weeks 4 to 9, books look good :D (I started by some I didn't enjoy, so something good would be great).

Empire of the Ants: the writer is a scientist so he added true stuff about ants in the book and I found it really interesting, it helped me to have a good mark in entomology at the university :p He has an unusual way to organize a story, so if you want to try something different, it's a good book.
The Three Musketeers: it's old but well, it's Athos, Porthos and Aramis and you can't really be wrong with these 3 guys. French and classic.
Ravage: I read it in school and enjoyed it, which was unusual. I've to re-read it to be sure I won't change my mind, but I've a nice memory of it.
Toby Alone: a book for children (it's on the 10 years old shelves at the book store). Recommended by a dear friend of mine (who has same tastes as me for this type of books), so I'll read it on week 17 and will give my opinion on it :)

Lorraine no you can't, sorry ;)
But you can print all the covers and put them all over the walls to help you with the cold weather. Feel free to send me some snow, I love it so much :)

The Giver was a great read, I had a hard time to put it away and jumped on the sequels one after another :) She's a great writer and a great builder too, as each book is related to the others, but the stories are really different.
I'll re-read The Road for the Pulitzer.
I didn't enjoyed Under the Dome (I've to read the 2nd part, in France we have 2 books for this story), I find the last King's books disappointing which is sad as I think it's a good author.

Added:
- short stories. I wanted to read The Lottery - it seems it has something to do with Hunger Games- so I'll read it with some other creepy stories from the same author. If I find them good, I'll choose another of her books for the love triangle. I added a graphic novel too which has some short stories and seems to be another interesting read on the creepy road.
- true story. I ended on this one after my last search and found interesting to have a woman point of view about slavery. It's an old book, so it's free, which helped me to take my decision ;)

I didn't enjoyed it but it wasn't a surprise as I started it 2 years ago and challenged myself to finish it in 2015.
I won't recommend the book to anyone, except to those who read the 1st book and fully enjoyed it. I found the 1st correct but not great, and liked more the first season of the tv show.

The story is about a teenager who lives in a poor country. She has to hunt to feed her family but it's forbidden. The future is not bright for her, so she has to travel. She'll discover a new shallow world, meet bad persons, loose some friends and win new ones.

I think I'll add a screencap' to celebrate this :D Thank to point the feature and welcome!
No problem with the age part, it's nice to see some experienced people who read a lot more books than many of us and another point of view on books is always welcomed, whatever the person age is.

I'm doing the short welcome version, Michelle is so much better than me at this! I've the habit to say "Hi! Wow your post is nice!" in front of my computer and write nothing :p
Nice to see that we are fun and encouraging. I hope you'll have a great time there.

As the group is a friendly one, it would be nice if you add you plan here so everybody can read it, comment and see your progress.
You can copy/paste your current plan, if it's easier for you.

For week 4, we decided to read it as "a book published the year before the reading week". So you can read 2014 books too ;)
Feel free to switch some weeks, the important thing is to have fun and to discover new books :)
I think we have very different tastes/interests in books as I don't recognize one title in your list. It's nice to see some diversity.

I'm not far to be fluent in english (maybe in 2 years, currently I'm not comfortable with the speaking part and I need more vocabulary for the writing part), mostly because I like english very much and increased a lot my level with reading english books and watching movies and tv shows in english too.
Spanish... argh, not interested at all. I didn't use it since school but I can understand most of the things I hear, if you speak slowly. Same when I read. Other parts suck and as I've spanish this semester, it's a nightmare.
Some years ago, I'd the fantasy to learn mandarin (chinese) and bought a learning method. But well, I'm a little lazy, so I never opened the book :p I also learnt by myself a little italian, but well, I was lazy too :D
No problem for the books, just because, well, most of them are written in english :p I've more problem with the distribution network as some books never reach the frontier and are not available on my Amazon :(

Nadia > Yes, you can but reading in order is better if you want to discuss about your books ;) I'll read some of the books in my list in disorder because of my work schedule, but I'll try to mostly follow the weeks.
