How many are for this challenge? 38 (for 32 weeks)
How many other challenges are you currently working on? 1 other
What has been your favorite book so far? Hollow World
Least favorite? It's between GoT2 and The Borrowers
Were there any books that you thought you would hate and ended up loving them? No, but I enjoyed some books more than what I expected.
How many times (roughly) do you think you've changed titles on your reading plan? I've changed around 15 books since the beginning, others are from my original plan.
Have you followed the challenge in order, or have you jumped around to what you want to read first? Mostly in order but I doubled weeks for long books and jumped ahead when I had some free reading time.

Otherwise, the book is an interesting computer history thing, I'm learning a lot about it, even if it's not easy to understand everything (what, they had to think to make/use pixels?). On the memoir side, there are few insights about Jobs' thoughts, it's more external points of view, which is a little disappointing. He didn't seem a nice person when he was young, so something more personal would have help to find him nicer or to understand why he was a jerk.

While reading, I love, I hate, I smile, I'm a bit sad, I'm annoyed or I'm sooo bored. It's already lots of feelings.

I've the same problem for the cry and funny books, it's really difficult to decide what to read for this categories. I usually don't laugh or cry while reading, so it doesn't help...

This discussion thread is solely for your progress. (Book discussions go in individual threads.)
What did you read this week?
This memoir is devoted to...
Did you enjoy the book?
Did you learn something interesting about life or people?

It's time to check how the group is doing, you can vote in this poll (Ends at July 8).
Last poll: What week are you looking forward to the most in July? (Ends at July 6)

I like when people give some feedback about their challenge books, it's easier to know if I will be interested in reading them or not :)

I didn't read the sequels, did you enjoy them more or less? :)

I finished my 2nd trilogy book. There were some interesting chapters in the 2nd part and the points of view were way more balanced, but it was too slow paced for me. I'm a bit sad I didn't succeed to enter the story, I hope the 3rd book will be more compelling.
Black Feathers, my cover book, was more than what I expected and I was totally delighted by the ecological tone :) Well written, interesting apocalyptic story, really it's one of the great surprises from the challenge. As it's the 1st part of the story, I've to read The Book of the Crowman as a side-read.
Side-reads: I listened and enjoyed the audiobook for the short story Professional Integrity, was disappointed by the very short Fireflies and delighted by the graphic novel Nimona. Maybe I'll use it for the challenge but it's too early in the year to decide which comic book I'll pick for this week.
I read 2 books too, Dentelle et nécromancie, a french steampunk book heavy on romance (not really realistic, but it was a page turner) and The Emperor's Edge, a light headed fantasy book with some steampunk, it was nicely done and a good break from more darker stories (and it's free :p).
I completed 32 weeks, so I'm doing well with the challenge and I continue to be ahead of schedule. As there are some books I'm eager to read, I'll probably finish the challenge before the end of the year :)

Did you enjoy the book?
Oh yes :D It's better than what I expected and it's on my favorite list from now.
Do you think the cover gave you a good clue about what was in the book?
Yes and no. It definitively has an apocalyptic subject but I expected something more "biohazard" oriented. The story has in fact an ecological tone and there's fantasy too. By the way, the title is just perfect and gave a good clue.
Are the book covers usually important when you choose a book?
Yes, I usually choose books by their covers. Of course, I can read ugly ones but I'm less appealed by them.
