Thanks, Maureen. I've added it to my shelf!

That has to feel good, Renee. Well done!
Maureen, that history of Rome sounds really interesting. What did you think of it?

Nominations are now open for our June theme until Wednesday, May 17th.
What topic would you like to read about in June?
Rosemarie wrote: "Finished the Award Winners Pie. This one was harder than the others."Well done Rosemarie! Which award(s) did you do?

Yes, you're right - theme instead of genre!

Maybe reading it for this challenge will help you push through!

I read 7 books in April, for a total of 34. 7 seems to be my new monthly average. Last year it was 10-12. I'm not sure what the difference is - longer books maybe.

That's all right by me! I'll move this thread over to the year-long challenges.

Cindy, I'm glad you're enjoying this challenge. Would you like to make it a year-long one? I know I'd also like to have more time to work on mine.

Oh good - maybe I can still pull it off then. Thanks, Renee.

Our theme for May is Family. Anything with an emphasis on family counts, fiction or non-fiction. Do you have any reading plans?

I did get my re-read of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in for this challenge. There's definitely more than one villain I could pick from in there. The fully human ones are actually more scary than Voldemort.

I'm half way through
A Court of Mist and Fury, so won't finish it quite on time. Close though!

Oh no! Good luck getting back on track.

That's a shame. Still sounds tempting, though.

That one sounds interesting, Trisha. I'm going to have to check it out.

It's time for nominations for our May theme. What topic would inspire you? Nominations are open until Wednesday, April 19th.

Finished round 1. My update is in
comment 14. Apparently a lot of the books I want to read this year are chunksters, so I'm coming back for round 2.
