118012 I must admit, it is very readable.

Did you find that it lulled in places? Was it ever a struggle?
118012 Two days?! Wow!
118012 Lexie, it's up to you what counts and what doesn't :)
118012 Ah, I was off the other week, and stupidly decided to watch tv shows rather than read! I wish I'd read instead!
118012 Quick reading, Francine!
118012 I'm so jealous of everyone getting so far through! I'm on like page 20, and the characters are slightly confusing me. But I'm sure I'll get into it. It did definitely hook me from the first page, and it's very well written. I was expecting it to be really hard, but the translation flows beautifully.

118012 15. The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood.

I'd personally say that this book was better than Oryx and Crake, and I can't wait to read the final part to the series!

Up next is The Count of Monte Cristo, hopefully!

118012 Hi Alison,

All questions are allowed here, so don't worry that it isn't a group-related one.

Goodreads stores all its newsletters here. I don't know if these are the exact ones you are looking for.

I hope this helps!

118012 I really need to get into more Victorian fiction... Perhaps we could set up a thread about it, considering its a favourite by so many.

118012 The Maze Runner is on my to-read list, but I doubt I'll get to it soon. I would be interested in doing a buddy-read of it though!

118012 I always find dystopias very interesting reads, especially focusing on the Sociology side of my life. While I have read a few YA dystopian novels, I think the real beauty of the genre is through the classics. I'll always happily read a dystopian novel!

In a broader way, classics are definitely 'comfort' reads, which sounds odd. The knowledge that I'm reading something with centuries and decades of literary regard makes the reading experience far more enjoyable for me, if not a little daunting sometimes!

118012 So, my books arrived today...

118012 The whole thing is just beautiful, even though it is slightly harrowingZ
118012 Now I really want to read it!

118012 Lightning is my mum's favourite book, so I recommend it through her!
118012 Oh thank god. I'm looking forward to the story, and something simpler and actually understandable compared to Ulysses!

I really want to start it now!
118012 Is everyone finding it relatively easy to read? I'm just wary that my copy isn't going to arrive until Thursday, and I want to get started on it straight away!

I hope everyone is enjoying it! What do you all think?

118012 3 big dystopian classics in there, Brett. Excellent novels!

Let me know what you think of Catcher in the Rye. I've heard mixed things about it!
118012 Lorah, I was the same. It's pushing past the first bit to reach the good bits.

118012 I may have the opportunity to study it at University, and I'd probably choose to do it. So probably yes. But definitely not until I'm a bit more comfortable with Joyce's writing.
