We don't all have to read the same Hardy book? We could just do a collective 'Hardy read' this month, where we can pick whichever novel we want by him? That way it frees up people who may have read some of his best known works?
Just an idea :)

Feel free to join in the conversation, Rose :)

I'd definitely be up for this.
I'd like to do
Tess of the d'Urbervilles, but I know that many people have probably read this. If not,
Far from the Madding Crowd. Honestly, I'll happily do anything.

Reviews are always interesting to read, regardless of if they are scathing or glowing.
If you've reviewed a recently read book, and would like to share it, post a link to it here.

Kassandra, I'm the same! I'm trying to get some Dickens read, so it's ideal!

Oh I had that too the other week. I hope you feel better soon!

I love The Shawshank Redemption! I knew it was based on Stephen King , but I didn't know if was based off a seasons novella!

Hi Tara,
By the sound of it, you're talking about our Group-Wide Goal thread. Each month, Faye asks everyone to post their totals.
You can find it
here

Hopefully, I'll read
The Maze Runner and
The Giver. If I feel like it, I might read
City of Ashes, but that's only if I read everything else, or if I fancy something really light.

I've ummed and ahhed about reading any of his books. Horror isn't really something I've explored, but I've heard a lot of talk about him within the group.
The Stand sounds really interesting, but it's so long! I'd like to read The Shining, but I'm weary.
What would you recommend for a complete newbie to Stephen King?

I'm the same. I'm not sure whether or not I want to read it, but I know I'll try and fit it in after I've done all my reading for the month. I will definitely keep up with the discussion though!

I started it like 3 times before really getting into it. If it isn't for you, don't worry though. I know a lot of people who have said they hated it. I personally found it very experimental, and I generally like experimental books.
I'd definitely be interested in doing a buddy read of Hardy's stuff. We could do a general author read, considering he's written rather a lot. That way we aren't limited to one book.

Crikey, I'll have to go back through the thread and read this whole discussion! Looks super interesting!

Roseanne, I haven't read any other John Green books, but I did love The Fault in Our Stars. I'd definitely recommend it.

Hoping to read this too. Might get round to it before March, but I'm not sure.

YA seems to be a big love for a lot of people here, and increasingly the 'big names' are being read. I can't wait to see what people are planning on reading! Remember, if a lot of you want to read the same book, feel free to start a buddy read!
What will you be reading for this month's genre challenge?

Catch 22 is phenomenal, although it takes a while to get into, and certainly isn't for everyone. It's definitely a marmite-book.
I might have to join you in reading Far from the Madding Crowd. I've been meaning to read some Hardy for ages.

There are two versions of this: Twelve Years a Slave, and then Twelve Years a Slave and Other Slave Narratives. You can read either!
This is our first non-fiction group read. I'm definitely interested in seeing how popular this is!
