118012 Iasa, I'm in! I'm always willing to read a Du Maurier!

118012 People are getting so creative with how they use the mini-challenges. It's great!

118012 Faye, I know your pain.

But, regardless, WE CAN DO THIS!

118012 Go Kassandra! :D
118012 At least you have a good selection. I personally have no idea!
118012 That's an insane list, Camille!

118012 I had the pleasure of studying Huck Finn the other week. Great novel!

And I agree, the dialect is tough sometimes!

118012 Great idea, Rob! :D

118012 Relaxing classical music, Sandy. The playlist is actually online, and I'm slowly going through a set of playlists with a reading tag. It's great fun!

118012 Found a really awesome music playlist with the exact kind of classical music I love to listen to when reading. So that'll be playing throughout the Readathon week.

That and the comfy chair in my dorm room means I'm all set for next week. And don't forget my big flask of coffee! (Saves me from going to the kitchen)

As for costume, I always have a blanket when reading, so I have normal clothes, and my blanket with cute owls on!

I still need to finalise my reading list though!

118012 Sandy, the Great Speeches on Gay Rights sounds fascinating! I'll definitely check this out!

118012 Thanks Amber!

118012 That's seriously awesome, Iasa!

118012 You do realise how ironic that is, Faye? After all, Raskolnikov is a murder! :P
Oct 18, 2014 10:12AM

118012 I might, at least pairing with the actual texts. I have a few 15 min walks to my lecture and seminar rooms (stupidly big campus), so they'd suit me well!

118012 On a Holden Caufield note, I'm studying Catcher in the Rye this semester. Reluctant because it's such a love-hate book!

Renee, that is definitely some serious aversion to Russian Lit! I would definitely get past Book 1, if possible!
118012 Dracula is spreading!

118012 Still haven't got round to finishing Wuthering Heights! Whole-heartedly agreed, there are some books that just don't agree with us!

(I am actually studying Wuthering Heights next semester, so I finally have an excuse to read it!)
118012 Oh my god, Faye, that made me laugh.

I wasn't expecting it to be such a adventure novel as such, with a team of characters fighting off evil. I knew of Lucy, but little of Mina. Generally, I just think my original perceptions were far different to what it was. I expected it to be far more like Frankenstein, a bit more philosophical and dark. Instead, the humour surprised me.
