101690 The books by both Jenni James and Julia Barrett sound like they are worth checking out, thanks for the heads up.

101690 Thank you for posting Jennifer.
101690 I don't understand how anything under 100 pgs, is allowed to be called a "book" either, which IMO, it most certainly is NOT!

Haha.... yet here I purchased one for my Kindle for $2.99 that is only 66 pgs, all because of the synopsis and that beautiful face/cover! I am actually reading it now.

101690 The cover photo of a beautiful Australian Shepherd, and the book synopsis, made me go for ~Show dog : the charmed life and trying times of a near perfect purebred.

Back in the 70's I was a fancier of purebred rough-coated Collies along with donkeys and mules, and since I didn't drive back then, I would make my poor hubby drive me around to dog, donkey and mule shows. (I so wanted to own a 'gaited' donkey or mule. )Sometimes I had to really finagle him to go, but we always had a great time. I finally got my beautiful purebred collie, but never had any desire to show him.

Anyway, these days I am charmed by the Aussie, but I know they are way too smart and active for this 65 year old,and a Chihuahua is more my speed, haha.

So I am reading~Show Dog: The Charmed Life and Trying Times of a Near-Perfect Purebred by Josh Dean

Then I have another Aussie book, that a cover with an even more beautiful 'blue-eyed' Aussie compelled me to purchase for my new Kindle Paperwhite~♥♥♥

It has been a busy time here with my teen granddaughter staying with her dad and I, or I would have already finished~Show Dog: The Charmed Life and Trying Times of a Near-Perfect Purebred.
I am really loving this book! Though I was a dog show fancier I never got involved, however I am enjoying reading about that world, and especially about the personal experience of owning an Aussie. Anyone who is interested in the dog show sport, or the Australian Shepherd breed, would love this book!

101690 Goblet Of Fire was just ok for me. Was planning to read the garden-themed cozy mystery ~A Muddied Murder A Muddied Murder (A Greenhouse Mystery #1) by Wendy Tyson but it was due at the library and there were holds on it so I couldn't renew it.

So now going to start~ Show Dog The Charmed Life and Trying Times of a Near-Perfect Purebred by Josh Dean
101690 Re: Margaret, you are so fortunate to have been to Switzerland. It looks breathtaking, and I also find it amazing how buildings, in other parts of the world are older than American history! I also love their architecture.
101690 Re: Desiree, I fell in love with Scotland's beauty from watching my library's DVDs of Monarch Of The Glen

Have you ever watched the series?

101690 Hi Margaret, Welcome to the group.
101690 For me it would have to have a minimum of 250 pgs. It would be unlikely for me to even bother reading a pamphlet of less than 100 pgs!

It really irks me when I check the daily list for Kindle freebies and have to slog through so many that are not even 100 pgs! IMO ,it is ridiculous to call those books! :[
101690 I just removed my membership from over 20 groups, that I just didn't participate in, and/or they weren't active enough, or had very few discussions.

I also do not like groups where only books that have been group reads are allowed to be added to the group bookshelf, or only Mods may add books.

101690 I am still reading the Valentine Romance anthologies in~ Valentine Pets & Kisses Fourteen Sweet Romances by Rachelle Ayala that I got for $.99 for my Kindle, but it is slow going, because I also decided to read the whole Harry Potter series, and just read book 3, then had to go back and read book #2 Chamber Of Secrets, because I enjoyed it so much!

I have book #4~ Goblet Of Fire, loaded on my Kindle from the library, ready to read, and will be starting it today.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling
