This is Historical/Alternate Fiction Review Group 1, which will include all works of fiction relating to actual or alternate history. As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the books assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.
Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. If the review is positive (three stars or higher on Amazon), the review should be posted to Amazon (US and UK) as well, if the book is available there. This makes having accounts with both Goodreads and Amazon.com a requirement.
If a reviewer and the author agree that the review should not be posted to Goodreads due to quality issues, the reviewer is relieved of the requirement of posting the review. If this occurs in the first round, the second reviewer is relieved of the requirement to read and review the book. This is entirely at the discretion of the reviewer and is not intended in any way to manipulate the rating of any book.
Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work.
Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews.
If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.
If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.
Note that any participant who makes no effort to fulfill his or her commitment to this group will have all reviews of his or her work resulting from this group deleted and his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Group will be terminated.

I would like to suggest a review group for HISTORICAL & CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.
My novel is Cry for me Argentina. A story that covers two World Wars full of pioneering adventure, intrigue & ultimate betrayal. Will Sybil forgive the love of her life?

Laurel:
Thank you for letting us know and for your promptness. For all peer review group participants, this is how to handle being late with a review.
R.

I apologize for letting the schedule slip. The first post of this topic has been updated with the review schedule. Let me know as soon as possible, if there are any conflicts. The details of the process and guidelines have been added to the first post. Please review them.

Since I am Canadian, could I ask my r..."
Posting to the Canadian site should not be a problem. If any of the reviewers have a problem doing this, let me know.
R.

I have posted the same review on both the US and UK Amazon sites without problem. If a review is being taken down by Amazon, contact their customer support for clarification why.
R.

We now have six participants. Sign up is over. Scheduling has begun. Please let me know if there are any conflicts that need to be resolved in the schedule. I will publish the schedule of review in the next few days. Please note the guidelines and procedural information highlighted in the first post of this topic.

It's okay, if you don't have an Amazon link. The review will just be published on Goodreads. If you want to ask reviewers post the review to another venue, work that out with the reviewers.

We are now six. Sign up is closed. We are moving on to scheduling. If you have a conflict with reviewing any of the works included in this review group, please let me know as soon as possible. I will be publishing the review schedule in a few days.
Note that there is a new rule described in the first post to this topic. This is not something I wanted to do, but we have had too many participants take unfair advantage of these peer review groups to get reviews without fulfilling their commitments.

Yes. I believe that Alexa Dumas is a pen name for Ica Iova. You can message her from her Goodreads page.

Please check the list of authors and works in the first post of this topic. Let me know if there are any conflicts as soon as possible. In a day or so, I will publish the review schedule.
Note that there is a new policy described in the group description. I am not pleased to have to do this, but there have been too many participants who have taken unfair advantage of their peers in these review groups. Participants attempting to obtain reviews without making a good faith effort to fulfill their commitment to the group will not be tolerated.
