Bonnie Ferrante is a hybrid writer (publishing traditionally and self-publishing). She was a grade school teacher for thirty-three years, ten as teacher-librarian. She has received three OAC grants for her writing. She has recently entered the field of self-publishing and is greatly enjoying illustrating her own picture books although this becomes more difficult as her Parkinson's Disease progresses. Bonnie reviews picture books, features promotion pages, accepts guest posts, and interviews authors and illustrators on her blog. She writes serious and silly posts about raising and working with children, writing, and creative ways to make a home fun and personal. It was difficult finding enough nectar to feed her as she healed. Before she returned to fairyland, she granted me wings but they only appear on solstice and equinox days.

(The wings are actually a sculpture. When I stood in front of it, my husband noticed it looked like they were mine and took a picture.)(less)

I enjoyed it. It was quite different from the movie, more spiritual, more real, less humorous. I was glad it did so well.
