To say that I am disappointed in the behavior of some of the participants in this group would be an understatement. Two authors (you know who you are) did not post reviews for either of the books assigned to them. To the authors who did follow through, I say thank you and apologize for your inconvenience. I will be taking action to see that this does not happen again.

The review schedule has been posted in the first post of this topic. Authors can now start obtaining review copies.

This is Fantasy Review Group 10, which will include all types of novels classified as fantasy. As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the books assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.
Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. If the review is positive (three stars or higher on Amazon), the review should be posted to Amazon (US and UK) as well, if the book is available there. This makes having accounts with both Goodreads and Amazon.com a requirement.
If a reviewer and the author agree that the review should not be posted to Goodreads due to quality issues, the reviewer is relieved of the requirement of posting the review. If this occurs in the first round, the second reviewer is relieved of the requirement to read and review the book. This is entirely at the discretion of the reviewer and is not intended in any way to manipulate the rating of any book.
Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work.
Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews.
If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.
If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.
Note that any participant who makes no effort to fulfill his or her commitment to this group will have all reviews of his or her work resulting from this group deleted and his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Group will be terminated.

There are several reviews that have not been completed including some from the first round. This is not acceptable. If your reviews are going to be late, contact me and/or the author to rework the schedule.

This group is now full. Please let me know about any conflicts.
Note that L.C. Mawson has requested review of a boxed set. Participants assigned to review her work have the choice of reviewing the boxed set (The Freya Snow Pup Trilogy: Books 1-3) or White.
If there are no conflicts, a schedule will be published the beginning of next week.
R.

Tomorrow is the due date for second round reviews. If by the end of May 14, both reviews of your book have not been posted, please let me know.
R.

Definitely contact the author about the problem, so that he or she can have it fixed.
Generally, I do not comment on formatting errors, since they seldom are more than a small annoyance in reading a book. If there are only a few typos, I do not consider that worth noting, either. If there are a lot of typos, this reflects on the quality of the editing, and I would note it in the review.
Reviews are for potential readers not the author. A rule of thumb is that, if a defect with a book (whether technical, logical, or conceptual) impacts the value or readability of the work, it should be noted in the review.

As a suggestion, it would be more likely that there will be enough interest in starting a group, if the genre is not too specific. For example, Contemporary Romance is less likely to attract enough authors to participate in the group than Contemporary Fiction or Romance.

Make sure the Hydrans are present!"
No Hydrans in "The Tourist of Infinity", but don't worry. There will be unique alien sentients.

...
Nice one, Richard - any thoughts of a sequel?"
Thank you for the complimentary review.
In answer to your question, I have written the first draft of a sequel, "The Tourist of Infinity". I haven't worked on it for a while, but hope to get back to it someday soon. Many of the central characters from "The Negative's Tale" are back along with several new ones.
