BACK to my school days, bored in lessons, I would often take a pencil and drew faces on my fingernails. Those fingers came alive when I started wiggling them. Five fingers, five figures, five characters, a story in my head and a hell of a good time.
For many years, I have been on an academic path, and my unvarying school days have been superseded by the hustle and bustle of university teaching and research. But something has been missing.
I rise early and often run. The wind always blows, the river is never still. Things are awakening in me – characters, stories and a hell of a good time.
I am married with three children. The years have hurried by, and children have grown. When silence falls after they have gone to school, I sit down, absorbi

What? Writer’s block? Never heard of it.

Well, never-heard-of-it is an exaggeration. Of course, I know about it. In a novel writing workshop my tutor, Lynne, unravelled the mystery for me and ascribed the cause of the block, in most cases, to a faulty plot. Thanks to her, I simply removed the term of ‘Writer’s block’ from the knowledge base of my conscious mind.

But often the plot-fixing doesn’t work — I am happy with my plot, but I can’t move from A to B. If this occurs, I turn off any censorious and critical voices that normally abound in my mind in such cases, and tell myself that except for the word count, nothing matters. I write whatever floats into my mind and write as if in a trance. Do I write a lot of rubbish? Yes. Did I move the story from A to B? You bet!(less)

It is ‘BEING A WRITER’!
I have wanted to be a writer for more than thirty years. For me being a writer is no longer perceived and dissected in terms of pros and cons; it is about desire and fulfilment, and being a whole person. (less)

Interview By Self Publishing Review

The interview has released on 26th June. I present below one of the questions regarding 'Children of Swan: The Land of Taron'. Read the full interview here.

'What drove you to write this particular book?

It isn’t a coincidence that I have three children, just like the Goodman family. A few years ago I was attending a novel-writing workshop and needed a story idea to pitch to the group. My mind was d Read more of this blog post »

“It is all connected Dominick," she said. "Life is not a series of isolated ponds & puddles; life is this river you see below, before you. It flows from the past through the present on it's way to the future.”
Wally Lamb, I Know This Much Is True

Wally Lamb
“I am not a smart man, particularly, but one day, at long last, I stumbled from the dark woods of my own, and my family's, and my country's past, holding in my hands these truths: that love grows from the rich loam of forgiveness; that mongrels make good dogs; that the evidence of God exists in the roundness of things. This much, at least, I've figured out. I know this much is true.”
