I have a feeling that most people who've read "A Dance With Dragons" wouldn't be too keen on voting for Daenerys, but maybe that's just me.
Baelor Targaryen, from "A Knight of the Seven Kingdom," on the other hand? He'd be incredible.

My problem with Gandalf is that he might be a bit too secretive not only to the American people, but also to the other branches of government. Dumbledore might have this same problem. He would do something big that he thinks is right for the country, but wouldn't tell anyone. I'd vote for Hermione.

Yes and have some pretty cool fireworks on the 4th of july"

Any of those choices are pretty good, though a mix ticket of Hermione/Luna would be awesome. As long as they picked out:
Sherlock Holmes--FBI Director
George Smiley--CIA Director
Atticus Finch--Attorney General
Matilda Wormwood--Secretary of Education
Doctor Who--Secretary of Transportation
Gandalf--Secretary of State
Abraham VanHelsing--Secretary of Health and Human Services
Hagrid--Secretary of Agriculture
Captain Nemo--Secretary of the Navy
Captain America--Secretary of the Army
Harry Dresden--Secretary of Defense
...damn, that would be fun!

Sage, from the ascendance trilogy, he's my hero!
