“Augusta Hawke” by Malliet is my favorite book over the last three years. I enjoy humorous mysteries.
Little Secrets was such a great and unexpected read! Don't let the cover fool you! I freaking loved it!!!!

Michelina wrote: "How are these considered “new” mysteries? I’ve heard of all of them and read 80% of them!"First paragraph says its the most popular books in the last 3 years.
Pierre wrote: "I mean, the fact that there's not a single Agatha Christie book on this list..."Books from the past 3 years.
Claire Douglas needs to be on this list! Her newest title, 'The Girls Who Disappeared' (Sept 2022) HAD ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT!
"But play nice! Be the comments section you wish to see in the world." Love this, but also sad that it has to be said. Great list, btw!
Excellent list! I see that I have read 24 of the books on this list! I just went through and added 3 to my Libby app (audio) and I have 4 physical copies! Will be working my way through this list for sure!

wayne wrote: "if anyone has any strong recommendations do reply in the comments😊"State of Terror was AMAZING for me! It's a political drama but the plot and characters take you on such a ride - I absolutely loved it!
The Nothing Man by Catherine Ryan Howars is missing here. After the Silence, Louise O’Neill as well. Both books were shortlisted for Best Crime Fiction by an post Irish Book Awards.
Good list to save for later. I've read 27 and gave 5 stars to all except one. Some of my favorites are missing, but they couldn't list all of everybody's favorites, could they?
Pierre wrote: "I mean, the fact that there's not a single Agatha Christie book on this list..."Erm... that's because Agatha Christie hasn't published a book within the last 3 years... (that's the criteria for this list btw)
Wendy wrote: "Not a lot of diversity on this list is there? Disappointing."There's a list at the bottom specifically for mysteries by authors of colour.
wayne wrote: "if anyone has any strong recommendations do reply in the comments😊"I really loved 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. There were some sci-fi elements which made guessing what was happening unpredictable.
Why do you call this list “new”? It is very misleading. You repeat the same books time and again and I’m looking for NEW books. Please be more selective and only feature NEW books. When you read as much as I do, it’s too much to keep sorting through the same books over and over.

Quite.
We are living in the age of the death of cover art.
wayne wrote: "if anyone has any strong recommendations do reply in the comments😊"Little secrets, Every last fear, home before dark, the wife upstairs, and a flicker in the dark were all AMAZING!!
Disliked the it girl.
This list would be far more useful if we could click into just the subgenre we want. Having me have to check each book to figure out its subgenre doesn't help me find new books. it pisses me off and I leave the website. I at first thought the links in the description naming the subgenres would take us to such a list but nope, it only takes us to one book.I notice that the same thing has been happening on Amazon, which owns GoodReads. Most of the time it only indicates "mystery" and I've found books listed as "cozy mystery" that definitely aren't. That's how I ended up very unhappy with the latest "cozy mystery" recommended, which ended up being a badly written mashup of general mystery and police procedural.
Paulina wrote: "Little Secrets was such a great and unexpected read! Don't let the cover fool you! I freaking loved it!!!!"I enjoyed it too! As well as, "Things We Do in the Dark" and "Jar of Hearts."
Deb wrote: "So many great reads on this list. I’ve read quite a few and my 5 star books are:
[bookcover:When the Stars Go Dark|548..."Love, love, love, anything Lisa Unger!!
