Finding Inspiration
The cool thing about being a writer is how you find inspiration everywhere. I mean, literally…everywhere. The idea for Hunter’s Pride came from hearing about two minutes worth of a show on Animal Planet. They were talking about how a pride of lions rescued a girl who was kidnapped. They chased off her attackers and hung around until the police drew close. It got my brain spinning-a pride of shapeshifting cats rescue a girl from an attack and viola, story is born.
Inspiration can come other bo

Brenda Novak’s diabetes auction & a booksigning
Every year, Brenda Novak has an auction to raise money for diabetes. It’s going on now, and I donated an ARC of HUNTER’S NEED. HUNTER’S NEED won’t be out until December, but the winner will get an ARC once I receive my shipment of them, probably around August or September.
If you’d like to read a little more, you can do so here.
I’ll be signing at the Barnes & Noble in E-town this Saturday.
They’ll have CHAINS, as well as a few of my other books. If you live in or around the area, I’d love to me

Promo is a tricky thing. It’s a very tricky thing. One of the most useful promo tools I’ve got is the blog.
Social networks are another tool. I dunno if I’ve got any new readers from myspace, although I guess it’s a good way to interact.I do like facebook. I’m getting disturbingly addicted to twitter.
Social network sites can definitely be a good tool for authors.
But…and yes, this is a BIG but…social networking sites can also be extremely annoying. For one…I

[image error]CHAINS releases today. Don’t forget to check out the contest link…the contest runs (most likely) through the end of May and the winner’s name will be drawn and posted here.

Open door…
When I was out looking for ideas on blogging stuff, Marnie suggested:
I like it when authors take random questions for commentors and answer them…. such as….If you had to choose a character from your book to go on a 12 hour road trip who would it be? Why? Would you let them drive? Would you let them play with the radio?
I can do that.
So today is open…and if people ask me stuff and seem to like the way it goes, I might make this a regular thing.
If there’s a question you wanna ask, ask away. I can’

Conventions
A few days ago, I asked people what they wanted me to ramble about, because my ramblings well was running dry. Natascha asked:
Can you talk about your like/dislike of writer’s conferences or conventions? Do they do anything for you?
Well, the answer is…it depends on the conference/convention. I can’t say I actively dislike conventions/conferences (is there a difference…?), because I don’t. I can say that those with a rowdy, party type atmosphere just don’t appeal to me as much. I’m not shy, but

Found the link to this article over at the SB blog. It’s an interesting look at the romance genre, and I don’t think the article’s author, Joanne Rendell, reads romance. It’s one of the rare occassion’s when somebody outside the genre gets it right.
I may not have gotten my answer for why romance is selling so well in our troubled times, but the Princeton conference taught me that to rush to conclusions about romance fiction is to flatten out a rich, varie

Writer’s Desk
For the insanely curious, here’s a pic of my desk.
Nothing terribly fascinating. Although it’s cleaner than it usually is. I’ve got a phone, my iPod which I’ve been fighting with-Apple certainly doesn’t believe in making it easy for those with multiple devices to get their music from one device to another, do they? I’ve got some pens in a cup that my daughter made for me for Mother’s Day one year in school. I’ve got a calculator, a spindle of CDs, my Sony Reader tucked back in the corner. Na
