Three words

Got the idea from one of my facebook friends.

What three words would you use to describe yourself?

Mine?  Stubborn.  Strange.  A mom.

What about you?

About the survey

Since apparently somebody feels I didn’t make things clear… the survey ISN’T run by RWA.  It isn’t approved, sanctioned, sponsored, etc, etc… by anybody but me.  Just me.

Widgeting…a contest

I’ve decided to do a contest to help spread the word about my July ebook, The Redeeming.

Hopefully, here’s how this is going to work. To enter, all you have to do is post the widget at the bottom of this post somewhere on the web-it can be your blog, your myspace page, your facebook page, wherever. Once you post it, you come back here and live a link to where you have it posted to I can check it out. Just a headsup, I’m out of town on vacation this week so I won’t be able to respond to comments

About epubs & RWA…where I stand.

FYI, I don’t view RWA’s board as some evil group of women who are just determined to keep some of us down.  I don’t.  I don’t see the board as some almighty power that has the power to ruin careers or make them with the wave of a magic wand.

But they are the board of the organization that claims to be the voice of romance.  The advocate of romance.  But how they can actually be a true advocate when they are neglecting a percentage of their membership?

So here’s my viewpoint on the whole mess-I pos

Mini update on survey

I’m leaving for vacation tomorrow, gone until Friday.  I’ll have limited internet access, but I will try to watch the survey links.  However, I doubt I’ll tally up the results until the week after.

But for the curious, here’s about where we stand with 300+ responses so far.

Just so you know, after about 70 people had done the first one, I realized I’d made a mistake (failed to add a response) so I went in and added it.   The question was:

For those that aren’t epublished, do you feel RWA-as a whole

Writers & other industry people.

I’m doing a survey in regards to some issues about epubs & RWA.  Whether you’re epubbed or not, a member of RWA or not, I’d appreciate if you took a minute to do the survery-I’m curious about the outlook of people in general.

Are you like me?  You find out one of your fave authors is comign to town-only to find out after they’ve already been there?

There’s help.

It’s called booktour:)   You can find me there, lots of authors there.  and you can sign up to get weekly emails if there are author events in your area.

The Missing

[image error]I got the coolest email the other day.  A few months ago, I entered THE MISSING into a contest-it was one of the RWA chapter contests, RWI’s MORE THAN MAGIC.

Then I get this email… it seems THE MISSING won first place in the paranormal category.  So now it’s onto the finals.   I’ll find out about the finals in July.  ;)   Wish me luck.

It really is that simple

be warned…ranty ramble ahead.

Here’s a thought for those who think pirating is okay, found from another author’s site-it was on Patricia Brigg’s site, written by her husband, I believe.

However, authors can’t survive if their work is distributed far and wide for free, particularly since ebooks are becoming the preferred format for many readers.

It’s that simple.  If I can’t survive writing, I don’t write.  I go back to nursing.  If my way of living or my kids’ lives are impacted by the loss in inco
