Writing/Crit groups

Another good question with my recent open door was from Anna.  She asked:

Are you in a reading/critiquing group with other writers and readers? I've read that many authors are, and find that helpful. just curious, thanks

I'm not in actual crit groups, per se.  I've tried doing a crit partner once, and while it worked okay, it just wasn't something for me.  *G*  I'm very often one of those people who 'don't play well with others'.  A lot of that is just because I'm very independent, probably to the

Writing and Family

Yesterday's Open Door had some good questions-which is cool on several levels.  One… *G*  it means people are reading the blog.  Two…*GG* it means I have instant blog topics.

Kim asked:

How do manage to write and still find time for family. I know it was hard for me in grad school just to sit down and write papers without taking up to much family time, or general interruptions. It was either that or write in the wee hours of the morning. Do you write when an idea comes to you? Or, do you have a sp

Open door…

So I mentioned from time to time, I'd just open the floor for general questions.  Anybody have any?

The Redeeming

My newest ebook releases today…although technically, it's not new, since it's a reissue of a title I pulled from another epub some years ago.  Previously titled REDEMPTION, The

Redeeming releases from Samhain today.

Bred for destruction but longing for redemption, this second chance is all they have.

Faced with the choice of torment or redemption, Jonah accepts the bargain laid out by his guardian angel as he lies dying in the street alone. Change…or die. Not a hard choice, it seems. But then he me

My Cover Fairy came through again

She's so very good to me.

We've got the cover for BROKEN and it works so very nicely with FRAGILE.

Guestblogging over @ Espan

For those wondering more about epubs, I guest blogged over at Espan-which is an RWA chapter for those in the epub industry or interested.  Other industry pros have already visited and there's more to come.

Attendees from all walks of the industry are invited to join us to mingle with favorite Samhain authors, chat with our editors, learn more about digital publishing and opportunities at Samhain, or just to drink really great wine.

Survey says…

Okay, the survey was a pain. Times 10.  To the nth degree.  If I realized how big it would get, I either wouldn't have done it, or I would have found a better way.  Being unprepared, I used survey monkey's free service, which limited my responses to 100.  After I reached the 100, I set up another.  By about the third survey, I figured this wasn't going to work and I upgraded to the paid service, which was better, except I couldn't group the responses together automatically, which meant I had to
