Regarding the Louisville Library

I have had a few people contact me about the bookdrive for the Lousville Library.  Please note, I did speak with library personnel and was told any books collected through the bookdrive would be very much appreciated, and very much needed.

At this time, the library has no way to process new books, and I imagine storage is a concern, as the largest branch-the main branch- is going to need serious work done before they can use some of the library.  However, I'm local and I can store books until the

Labels

Are labels good?  Bad?

Well, IMO, they are kind of necessary.

I've got a food allergy.  I read ingredients on food labels to make sure I don't end up eating something I shouldn't.

I don't like messing with dry cleaning, so I check clothing tags to make sure it's not labeled as DRY CLEAN ONLY.

I don't really care for straight erotica, so if I see something tagged as straight erotica, I'm not very likely to read it.  Nothing against straight erotica, it just doesn't work for me, so

Affectations

Affectations impress me about as much as reality TV does.  And reality TV stopped impressing me less than halfway through the third season of Survivor.

I don't like fakes. Sometimes, I run into a lot of them in this biz.  People who think 'reinventing' themselves is the key to success, happiness, the Holy Grail…etc. Etc.  ETC. People who think that playing a part is the way to impress people.

Sometimes reinventing yourself can seem to have rewards.  Maybe playing

Book Drive to help Louisville Free Public Library

Book Drive(post is sticky-see below for newer posts)

On August 4, heavy rains caused flooding in Louisville, Kentucky and the surrounding areas.  The Louisville Free Public Library's main branch was hit hard and the damages are estimated at $1 million.

I'm putting to a book drive in effort to help.

How you can help:

Everybody:

Donations of new books, all genres.

How about an excerpt…

I got in the final edits for Hunter's Need and it dawned on me.  I haven't shared much from that book, have I?  Must rectify…

Hunter's Need

"You're getting your ass on a plane, that's what you're doing.  That's the only thing you're doing, so deal with it," Kelsey said, storming into her office.  She jerked the band from her ponytail as she settled behind her desk.  When she looked back at him, the irritation she felt was written all over her face, glinting in her eyes.

"I'm not getting on a plane.

Cue Sobbing

Sl Viehl's newest STARDOC book has hit the shelves… Crystal Healer.

Sob…

Crystal Healer

Crystal Healer

Why am I sobbing?  Well, Duncan and Cherijo are my fave book characters.  I adore them.  And after Crystal Healer, there's only one more STARDOC book left.

Thus the sobbing.

If you haven't read the STARDOC books, you really should. Start with book one, STARDOC.  Then you can cry with me after the final book comes out.

I'm back….and oye, I'm tired

Back from our mini-vacation/signing trip.  I did drive-by signings at like ten stores throughout Ohio, and then had the booksigning in Port Clinton.

The kids spent several days at King's Island and Cedar Point, riding rides.  Hmmmm…. why don't I feel rested?

I did get some serious reading done, though…

Read:

Love Song by SL Carpenter

The Cat and Bones books by Jeanine Frost

Omega Games by SL Viehl

Call Me Barbarian by Liddy Midnight

And another book I can't talk about yet, not until I'm told it's okay t

Too funny

A little over a week ago, the Smart Bitches had a contest up on their blog-inspired by a cover from a little known author that had Dan Brown's name written in HUGE type on the cover.

I wanted somebody to mine…ended up getting FOUR somebodies.

Funny…wanna see?
