Rainy Day Reads

It rained yesterday.

And I don't just mean a little.  It rained from the time I left for church with the kids right on up to the time I started getting ready for bed a little after ten.  We had several inches dumped on us, at least.

After church, I came home and made chili…best food ever for a rainy fall Sunday, right?

Then I spent the afternoon reading.

Savor Me Slowly

The first book I read was: Savor Me Slowly by Gena Showalter.

The blurb:
Mishka Le'Ace was created to be an undercover operative ...

Color Me Curious

Curiosity, after all, did kill the cat, right?

This showed up in the 'hits' that landed people here on the blog.

impress me cat

Candy Houses

[image error]Meet Greta & Rip.

*G*  And yes… I said Rip.  Relax… the name makes sense in the context of the story.

Blurb:

Greta didn't get her happy ending her first time around. And now that she's a Grimm—special kind of guardian angel and official ass-kicker in the paranormal world—romance is hard to find. Besides, there's only ever been one man who made her heart race, and the fact that he did scared her right out of his arms. Now Rip is back. And just in time too, because Greta needs his help.

On a...

More about the Google book settlement

Dear Ms. Marybeth Peters:

I adore you.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Shiloh Walker

PS: for those who are wondering how this connects to the Google book settlement, Ms. Peters is the Register of the Copyright Office.

This is what she had to say to a congressional committee in regard to the Google book settlement:

Parts of the settlement are

"fundamentally at odds with the law."

Here's a link to the article with the AP.

Again, Ms. Peters, thank you.

Here's what you do:

Hunter's Need

Talk about it. I don't care if it's on your MySpace, a note on Facebook, on your regular blog, etc.  (please note…it does need to be someplace where I can find it-in other words, it needs to have a specific link/addy…...

So hard to believe.  My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost friends and family on this awful day.

Do I really need a website?

I know this is a topic that's been discussed before, by a number of different people.

I'm doing it again, because I was procrastinating and playing online, ended up on Ann Aguirre's website, reading this post.  She's discussing author websites.  Since I needed something to blog about, I figure I might as well do this, too. ;-)

So do authors really need a website?

In my opinion, yes. Here is why: readers like them.

Readers are always looking for what's coming next.  We finish a book, we hit the...
