Saying No
I was reading the blog over at Genreality today and one of the points Lynn Viehl mentioned was saying no.
Good advice.

LOLCats
Authors get asked to do a lot of things. A lot. Now, some of these, it is in our best interest to do. Like promo. Finding some way to get the word out about your books. It's not an easy thing to do, sometimes, finding what works for you, what doesn't, what you can afford, etc, etc, etc.
But sometimes, these things become a huge time suck. They take away from the...

France cracks down on piracy
According to this article in the New York Times, France has a new law.
It's a three-strikes sort of law. Three strikes and you may lose your internet access for up to a year.
Me? I think the...

Beyond the Night
There are times when I just flat-out love this job.
Why?
Well, there are a number of reasons but one of them comes with meeting all the cool authors I've gotten to meet. Another perk? *G* Getting to know them well enough to beg for early reads.
Like…oh, say… this one…the first in a new series by author Joss Ware. (hmmmm…although now I wonder if I'm supposed to say anything about the goofy new regulations for bloggers and books and whatever put out by the FTC…should I mention this was an...

A break
Took a bit of a break last week.
entire time, right up until we left Saturday morning, it was a great break and I needed it.
Even though the weather was nasty (and cold), we saw enough of the area to know it's downright gorgeous, so we'll definitely be going back.
Since...

Reminder on contests…
These will be the last few for ARCs of Hunter's Need and time to enter is running out…
Reader's Contest for Hunter's Need
Yes, you can enter both, but you can't win both. if you already have an ARC of Hunter's Need, you can't win another. Sorry, but ARCs are seriously limited. I only get about 15 so I need to spread them out the best way possible.

No Longer Mine
I have a question… No Longer Mine, my first romance, has been out of print since 2006. When it was in print, it wasn't exactly widely available. I keep having readers ask about it.
This is a straight contemporary, and it's NOT my best work…it was my first romance, after all.
I've been thinking about putting it with Samhain, but I just don't know.
What are your thoughts?

Did you read The Missing?

The Missing
It's the paranormal romance I did a year or so ago about a psychic.
If you did…got a question. There was a character–Taylor Jones–he worked as Taige's kind-of boss.
Remember him? Just out of sheer curiosity, what do you think of him as a character in his own book? I've had a couple of people ask and my original thoughts were along the lines of, 'Are you nuts? He's an asshole.' (and he is-they agreed). But they wanna know why, what made him that way…etc, etc.
What about you...
