Cool article

Found the link to this article over at the SB blog. It’s an interesting look at the romance genre, and I don’t think the article’s author, Joanne Rendell, reads romance. It’s one of the rare occassion’s when somebody outside the genre gets it right.
I may not have gotten my answer for why romance is selling so well in our troubled times, but the Princeton conference taught me that to rush to conclusions about romance fiction is to flatten out a rich, varie

Writer’s Desk
For the insanely curious, here’s a pic of my desk.
Nothing terribly fascinating. Although it’s cleaner than it usually is. I’ve got a phone, my iPod which I’ve been fighting with-Apple certainly doesn’t believe in making it easy for those with multiple devices to get their music from one device to another, do they? I’ve got some pens in a cup that my daughter made for me for Mother’s Day one year in school. I’ve got a calculator, a spindle of CDs, my Sony Reader tucked back in the corner. Na

To each their own

Okay, time for a ramble.
People are entitled to their own likes, their own dislikes.
If you don’t like snark, then I’d steer clear of snarky blogs. Likewise, if you don’t like always reading sites that are upbeat and cheerful, then don’t go to sites that tend be pretty upbeat and cheerful.
If you don’t like honest opinions, and that may include some stuff that’s less than polite, then don’t hang out around people who are big on delivered their unvarnished opinion

“You don’t need to keep me safe from you, Kel. You’ve never been a threat to me. The only thing that could hurt me would be losing you again.”
Kel slid her a look and shook his head. “You’re wrong.” Then he reached up, carefully prying her arms a

Handy
Over at PBW’s blog, she’s always doing these top ten lists-some are just for fun, others are writing or graphics related. I’m pretty sure that’s where I found the note app below. If not at her blog, then I saw something there made me think to look for it. (FYI, it doesn’t look just like the one above-that one is here)
If you’re anything like me, you forget things unless you have them jotted down. I need my notes. I tend to remember almost everything, it’s just that I don’t always remember un

Something to talk about…
My brain is dead.
Help me out. What sort of stuff do you all like me talking about? Is there anything in particular you’d like me to blog about? Anything you hate me blogging about (doesn’t mean I won’t do it, but hey)?
I’m not craft guru and I’m still stumbling through the maze of the publishing world, so I don’t know if I have any amazing insights there. But I’m happy to try, if there’s something in particular you want to ask.

Keepers
originally posted at the vamps and scamps blog
We’ve all got keepers. Movies, books, music.
Lately, I’ve been in the mood to revisit some faves-I’ve been re-reading some of my Sherrilyn Kenyon books, and not too long ago, I did the same with the Darkyn books by Lynn Viehl. I’m also on a Buffy kick-stayed up until 2 am the other day watching the last part of season 5.
I don’t have a lot of ‘keeper’ TV shows, but Buffy is one of them. Law and Order: SVU is another. The old showtime series, Robin
