More on Mondays
I’m braindead and can’t think of anything to blog about, so I’m going to fall back on my ‘more on mondays’ thing that I haven’t done in ages.
With Monday coming, what I want is more:
More time with just me and my husband. (no talk of spongebob or pokeman allowed)More sunshine would be niceMore time to get ready before the next taekwondo testing.More squash-I was making some for dinner…there was an accident…lets not explain what kind…and I didn’t get to enjoy my squash.More music on my iPod.More eApril 18, 2009
We have a winner!
Winner of the Rob Thurman book is Teresa…Teresa commented:
I keep looking at that cover, and putting it back. Can’t even remember why. But, I keep picking it up. I wonder if Fictionwise has it? Maybe it is the format that is stopping me?
Well, now there’s nothing to stop ya from reading it. Email me at shilohwalker(at)gmail.com and put BLOG CONTEST in the subject line. As mentioned, the winner has about a week to email me to claim the prize, otherwise, it may be given to another commenter.

I haz bosoms
Hey, don’t go looking at me like that. It’s a book.
This book, to be specific. I love the SB blog. They’ve got a book out.If it’s half as funny as I’m expecting it to be, I’m going to have to wait until I’m alone to read it, if I want any peace and quiet at all.

The Weepy ReaderA while ago on my on blog, I addressed the problem of crying in public places while reading a romance novel. In particular, the problem of crying on a plane and thus terrifying your seat mate, who becomes convinced that she’s sitting next to a loon. Since then, I’ve thought a lot about the whole idea of weepy readers perhaps because I’m a chronically weepy re

Nine years ago
Nine years ago, I was reading a book by Catherine Coulter. I can’t remember which one. It might have been one of her FBI series. Can’t remember. I must have enjoyed it, because I finished it and I don’t finish books I don’t like. But while I enjoyed the book, I don’t remember much about it…save for the excerpt at the end.
It was for a science fiction book. In the back of a romance book. Boggled, me? Yes. Now, I like SF just fine, and have for quite a while. But still, you usually don’t

A change of scenery
originally posted at After Midnight’s blog
I had a deadline for April 1, 2009. The follow-up to Fragile was to be turned in. Except about mid-February, the book was still fighting me. I had this idea for the story and about 1/3 of the way through it, I realized the hero needed a different heroine. Now the one I was giving him…he wanted her. But she wasn’t right for him. I started getting these glimpses of this other heroine…now she was right for him. But I ignored it.
And what happens? The

Another jab at romance…? How shocking.
Not.
According to a columnist at Delaware Online , Harlequin sales are up. That’s not a surprise. Romance steadily sells, and it’s one area of publishing that has consistently grown in recent years. It’s one that will continue to grow, I imagine.
And yes…the column was written by another journalist who felt the need to take potshots at the genre. How shocking. Not.
She comments:
But the most intriguing entry was the third item on U.S. News’ list: bodice-ripper novels. Harlequin, still the bigg

Amazon Fail
So amazon has taken it upon themselves to de-list (making it to where they don’t show up in the typical search)a number of authors based on what they write. Because some of the material might be found offensive to some. Well, if you’re going to do it to appease one set of people, then you have to do it to appease the others, too.
Personally speaking, I’m a Christian and while I don’t want to read the satanic bible, I’m not going to scream FOUL at a place that sells it. They aren’t making ME bu

OOoooooohhhhh…..pretty….
I’ve had this cover for a while. A few weeks, I guess. I got it right after I got back from vacation and life was insane. Okay, MORE insane than normal.
Now that I can almost breathe again, you wanna see?
Pretty, yes? This is Duke and Ana’s story. Comes out in December. It’s up for preorder on Amazon, but nowhere else yet, that I could find.

**ATTENTION**Do NOT post this contest to sweepstakes sites. If my contests keep ending up on sweepstakes sites, I’ll stop messing with them…these are for my readers or potential readers, and I would appreciate it if people would respect my requests.
Okay, with that out of the way…I love this series. Is awesome. Very, very awesome. I’m torn between these and Ilona Andrews for the best urban fantasy. Cal is just excellent. Niko is just excellent. The author is just excellent.
