WCW – Party Pecans

WCW – Party Pecans

Yes, I know it’s Thursday, not Wednesday, and it’s late in the day, but I had my Happy New Year post yesterday. Isn’t it a pain when holidays fall mid-week and mess everything up?

Here are 2 recipes for party munchies that everyone has loved when I’ve served them.

Welcome, 2025

Welcome, 2025

fireworks and the year 2025 against a night sky

It’s the first day of a new year, and Terry’s Place is back from its blogcation.

What was I doing while I was gone? Nothing particularly exciting, but sometimes we need breaks just for the sake of a break.

I continued my weekly yoga practices. Had a hair salon appointment. Took the dog to the vet for her checkup. Had a massage. Watched too much football. All of these are ordinary, everyday type events. Hanukkah began at sundown on December 25th, so while most of you were probably ...

Happy Thanksgiving and More

Happy Thanksgiving and More

cornucopia of fruits and vegetables

I’m wishing everyone who celebrates the US Thanksgiving holiday the very best. Because of scheduling, our family get-together, small as it may be, was last Saturday, where we enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat. Our son hosted, and everyone brought a contribution. He assigned me dessert, and rather than make my usual apple pumpkin pie, I opted to do something different.  A pumpkin bundt cake with a bourbon glaze. It was well received by all.

television set showing test pattern

This is a test post. I’m asking for your help here. Technology raises its ugly head again.

For some reason, my blog posts aren’t being mailed to my subscribers the way they’re supposed to.

If you’re seeing this test, please either leave a comment or drop me an email so I’ll know you received it.
If this doesn’t work, then I’ll have to reconsider my delivery system.

Thanks!

Greener Grass? Bluer Skies?

Greener Grass? Bluer Skies?

grassy hill, ocean, and blue skyBluesky? Is it for me? My Facebook page lately has been dominated in a BIG way by people announcing they’re moving to or adding Bluesky as a social media platform. While I’ve learned never to say never, I’m not one of them. Yet.

My reasons, in no particular order.

I’m lazy.Almost everything I post on X and Instagram are pictures I’ve taken. Much of my following is photographers, not ranters and ravers.I filter my feeds so I see only a very limited number of peo...

WCW – San Francisco Seafood Quiche

WCW – San Francisco Seafood Quiche

I’m thinking of making this San Francisco Seafood Quiche for our Book Club’s Holiday Brunch. Haven’t made it in years–or decades, but as I recall, it was yummy.

Ingredients:
1 pkg of 2 frozen 9″ pie crusts (or use the refrigerated kind, or make your own, but I’ve never been good at it, so I’ve used the frozen ones.)
6 oz crab meat (or surimi if you’re on a budget)
1 1/2/c c. cooked chopped shrimp
8 oz Swiss cheese, chopped
1/2 c finely chopped celery
1/2 c fine...
